Having a Purpose in Life
Discover Who you are to God
I have always believed that God created humans and everything to glorify him. I believe this because of this verse. "For we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time so that we should walk in them." That is in Ephesians 2:10. Not only does this verse say we were made to follow Christ it says we are to do good works which Glorify God. I strongly believe that everything we do should glorify God or make Him stand out more than ourselves. I struggle with pride just like any other person but what keeps me focused on giving him the glory is what the Bible says we should do.
Once you discover that you were made to glorify God something inside you should change. Begin to ask yourself, does this glorify God? Is this pleasing to God?
Embrace who you are to God
I always find it fascinating that people question who they are, and how they can make a difference or change anything. In my high school years I was insecure and didn't know who I was to God. Since I grew up without a father, I always would pray to God like if I was talking to the dad I never had. This helped me in so many way that later formed me, to be who I am today.
When I realized that I was his daughter who he was suppose to protect, provide for, encourage, love; that is when my life changed forever. I was no longer insecure, no longer yearning to discover who I was. I began to embrace who I was. I was the daughter of the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, so I began to form a father-daughter relationship that helped heal my heart, that was broken from the divorce of my parents.
Steps on how to start your journey
"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body." 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
YOUR JOURNEY…
- Take a few minutes to write out some characteristics that would appear in God’s portfolio. Spend some time praising God for who He is and what He’s like!
- List some ways you have seen some of God’s characteristics reflected in the lives of other Christians.
- For each of those characteristics, write out some practical ideas about how they could be reflected in your life.
- In prayer, thank God for the privilege of being an agent of His glory and ask that people would clearly see Him reflected in your life.

Giving God the Glory
"Jesus replied, "If I glorify myself, my glory means nothing. My Father, whom you claim as your God, is the one who glorifies me." John 8:54.
As this verse states we shouldn't take God's glory. Having an ego problem comes from not giving God the glory and I strive to not have an ego. I think when you start thinking you have it all together, life tends to show you otherwise. That is why it's best to give God the glory because we still are not perfect and don't deserve any glory but God does.
I am writing this because I struggle with this and try my best to Give it all to God, my problems, my achievements, my flaws, including glory. Hope this has helped or inspired you to Give God the Glory! God Bless!
