How many times before you will learn?

Do you remember that one?

People who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge men into ruin and destruction.
1 Timothy 6:9New International Version

How many times have you foolhardy chased after the pot of gold? Don’t be silly you say, only an idiot would do something stupid like that.

Well, instead of the pot of gold, let’s replace it with the money scams on the internet. We all know about the Nigerian prince who if you send them money they will give you ten fold back, right? Please don’t tell me you were a dumbo who fell for that. What about all those ads you see on the internet that inform you if you will send them money they will send you a secret plan to make 10,000 a month. Of course the only ones to make the money are the people selling those plans to simpletons. How about stuffing envelopes? Do you remember that one? I know a lot of people who got ripped off on that one. The stock market is another one. Does it seem as if only the rich are making money off of it? Don’t worry, there is a God and he will deliver true justice to those leeches.

I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. I will not endure conceit and pride. Psalm 101:2 6

I don’t know if they are still around, but the only stock I invested in thirty years ago were called ethical funds. They invested only in green energy and giving micro loans to help poor people in impoverished countries. I invested in them because I believed in what they were doing, not to make money

I will give you a wealth tip I don’t think will ever fail.

Instead of wasting your time trying to get stinking filthy rich materially, why not invest your time with your family. If you have children and do not spend time with them, why not listen to Cat Stevens “Cats in the cradle.” How much time do you spend with your husband or wife? Are you trying to make it in the material world so much, your family is strangers to you? Or, more important, you are a stranger to them. How about your community? How involved are you in volunteer work? You want your country to become a better place to live, why not start with yourself. What are you doing to make your family, your community your government better? Yes take an active role in politics. Maybe if we all did this and held the politians accountable there would be a lot less intrusive and asinine laws out there. A lot less corruption too, no doubt.

It is a wealthy person, indeed, who calculates riches not in gold but in friends. Jim Stovall

Some people are born into wonderful families. Others have to find or create them. Being a member of a family is a priceless membership that we pay nothing for but love. Jim Stovall

And, of course, let’s not forget the most important of all. How much time do you invest in getting the riches of God love into your life and your heart? How much time do you spend in quiet time, reading Gods love letter to you (the Bible) and listening to Him. How much time do you take to listen to Him and follow His divine instruction? How much time do you spend with a grateful heart thanking God for all the wonderful gifts he so generously gives you?

“Then trust the Lord completely, don’t even trust yourself. In everything you do, put God first and He will direct you and crown your efforts with success.” Proverbs 3:5 Living Bible

When you work on building up these treasures you will be blessed with awesome riches like you could never dream of, the riches of the heart.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:10, New International Version

We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.
Winston Churchill

Prayer: I ask Jesus Pryyand (Jesus my Friend) guide me to follow Your gracious lead in how to care for the gardens of my relationships, including the wonderful one experienced with You. I ask in Your loving name Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
