How to Walk With Them Who Are Without #1
Introduction
Immediately a baby is given birth to, he has started to “walk” in the world. This “walk” is not physical walking, but it means the child has started interacting with the people of the world as he had interacted with the internal fluid when he was in the womb of his or her mother.
At first the child would be introduced to her parents; mother especially, then father, siblings, and neighbors.
The child’s siblings and family members are those with same genotype like him, those begotten by the same parents. Those people are those who belong to the same camp or cycle like the child, because of their genetic compositions.
Those who do not have the child’s kind of genome in their systems are considered to be people outside the family.
Christianity is like this, those people who are born again have the same spiritual gene within themselves as present in the blood of Jesus Christ, their heavenly Father. Thus, they are expected to resemble one another in all they shall be doing.
Through this, it is possible for one of them to predict what the action of another person would be even if the person is millionth of miles away.
We know that lovers who have been subsumed in their love for each other can usually predict and that correctly what their partner would do on a situation or is doing at a point in time. This is because for the length of time that they have lived together and interacted with each other they have studied themselves and have known the “likes and dislikes”, “dos and don’ts” of their partner and more importantly they have trusted implicitly each other.
This is how those who love each other behaves and how believers should view each other irrespective of their tribe, culture, language, location, and position. Since they have been begotten by the same father and have the same gene of the father in their spiritual systems, then their manners of actions and reactions to some things cannot change, it would be same, and thence, the smallest person among them would predict correctly what the oldest among them would do in certain religious instances, and the prediction would correct, because they have been knitted together in the spirit by their heavenly Father.
Therefore, any aberration from this would reveal either the position of the heart of the person speaking, or the position of the heart of the person being talked about. Which may mean that it is either that the person speaking is not saved, or the person being talked about is yet to be saved.
This was what happened to the brethren when Apostle Peter was apprehended by King Herod after he had killed Apostle James and he was imprisoned. (Acts 12:1-4) Now apostle Peter during the time that he was in the prison there is no way he could have gotten the information of where his brethren would be, because there was no advanced information technology then so that we shall say he may have been phoned neither did we read that when he was apprehended people were there telling him that they would move to a brethren’s house nor would anyone dare to give him the information of where the brethren would be gathered at because of the fear of the King, for doing such would expose the person to danger, danger of being killed by King Herod in place of Apostle Paul.
However, when the miracle happened and apostle Peter was delivered from the prison, he did not think of two places to go to, he was not making a guess, before he decides for where he would leave for and where he decided to leave for was exactly where the brethren were gathered at praying for his release.
Intriguingly, we shall see from this book also that the bible does not say that the apostle was told by the angel who delivered him that the brethren were at a place, neither did we read of him receiving a vision along such nor has dreamt a dream before the angel gotten to him to release him from the prison custody, but what we read was that he thought about it, guessed of where they would be and he guessed right.
“And when Peter was come to himself, he said, now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.
“And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.” (Act 12:11-12)
This couldn’t have happened assuming they had not been joined together spiritually, though physically they were not of the same parents, neither do they belong to the same class strata in the society, but they had the same gene in them, the same mind, the same thought, the same feeling because they have one God and one Savior, Jesus Christ.
“Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
“There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
“One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
“One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.” (Eph 4:3-6)
The brethren because they have kept the unity of the Spirit of God in them belong to the same cycle or camp and could predict themselves well as wives or husbands would predict their spouses and children would predict themselves and parents, because they are one.
However, there would be immense difficulties for those who do not belong to such caucus to predict well other people who do not belong to their class.
The foundation laid in this introductory column is necessary for the topic to discuss upon and essentially for grasping what the apostle is writing to the brethren in the book of Colossians chapter four the (a) part of verse five.
“Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, ...” (Col 4:5a)
In the next article I shall start the full expatiation of the topic.
