How to write Christian hubs

Updated on October 18, 2012

Choose an eye catching logo

Preferably one that matches the content that you want to convey.

It's to be remembered that you are (hopefully) writing this hub for people who NEED Christ, but don't have a full relationship with Him at this time.

Your audience will fit into one of the following categories:

  • Atheist
  • Agnostic
  • Secular humanist
  • Member of any non Christian faith
  • Heretics: member of 'Christian' sect outside of mainstream Christian belief.
  • Hireling Christians
  • Pew warming Christians
  • Christians 'outside the gate'
  • Disciples of Jesus Christ

I may have missed a few thousand categories, but hey! - I'm not perfect and neither are you, so don't sweat the small stuff, amongst our hubbers there are plenty of believers with excellent bible knowledge and years of experience who will (hopefully) correct me (and you) when we're in error.

There are also tons of non believers who will be looking to pick your words to pieces, so, before you start work on a new hub, make sure that the Holy Spirit is with you and you have a peace in your heart (that passes all human understanding) and write slowly, there is no rush.

If Christ returns before you finish, being caught up in the Rapture whist writing about Christ will probably NOT go against you, in fact you'll probably dine out on it for aeons!

Expound scripture, don't just copy and paste it!

Most folk are conditioned to go to sleep when confronted by a large chunk of scripture verse.

Satan loves that.

But printing scripture is necessary, because:

Gods word NEVER returns void, so somebody needs it somewhere!

Isaiah 55:10-12 (King James Version)

For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Accompanying the scripture that you are releasing into the world with a photo will also make it easier to keep your reader awake and alert.

I have had three hour conversations with non believers using scripture the whole time to discuss their problems, and by paraphrasing what the Word states have been able to reach through the defences that would have sprung up IF I had opened a bible.

Jesus used parables to set out His truths and illustrate what He needed people to understand.

You may be the only bible your reader ever meets.

Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. (Proverbs 30:5)

Remember this, if you use the word of God, there is no weapon of the enemy that can stand against it (and another scripture was use there)and your protection is secure.

When you start into apologetics, you are entering the enemies territory, because you are taking the fight right into the front line.

Satan has most of the world fooled that he does not exist, those who are aware of Satan's power, but are in rebellion towards Christ, will seek to stop your profession of scripture and faith.

Those who are still believing that THEY control their own lives must react to what you say, the demons that control their thinking (hidden in the deep recesses of their soul, like worms and trojans in our computers) are subtle and know that for as long as they keep them spiritually unaware, they will not only be able to use them to 'spam' believers constantly, but have their souls neatly tied up and ready to deliver to their master, Satan.

Their demons cringe when we speak scripture, that's why they react so badly in the forums when you print the word boldly and clearly. If their 'subject' ever wakes up (and I was just such a subject who did wake up) they will not only be evicted from their cosy little soul home, they will have to face Satans wrath at their failure, their losing one measly soul will cost them severely.

Satan has no justice or mercy and certainly no grace with his minions.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)

So use it like the double edged sword that it is, it will separate flesh from spirit and do it with one mighty heft or cleave that you swing.

But the sword is heavy, and you must practise before you go to fight the enemy, to build the stamina needed to wield that sword in battle.

Practice on believers before you face up to the enemy, because...

It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. (Ecclesiastes 7:5)

There is safety in many wise counsellors, and you have many around you, whether you are a new believer of have been one for decades, you can offer and receive advice and correction.

Bless or be blessed....

Every person you meet is either in need of your blessing or able to bless you.

You have been chosen by God for a reason:

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:

Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive. (Ephesians 4:12-14)

If you are willing, God will equip you with the tools needed to do the job.

Our task is to make ourselves REDUNDANT, not to produce 'converts' who follow us, but disciples who follow Christ and look to come to the fullness of Christ.

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." (Psalm 53)

Remember, everyone you meet will be either able to bless you, or be blessed by you. When we offer Gods blessing to people, that blessing is the fuller knowledge of God and Christ that they are them missing or depleted of.

I have said 'May God richly Bless you" to people and had them leap up and shriek "I don't want your blessing" - well OK it was not THEM shrieking that, it was the little demon in them that freaked out when they encountered the Holy Spirit of God in their face!

When you 'bless' a non believer you are challenging their demons, expect a reaction, but fear not because:

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." (Psalm 53)
The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." (Psalm 53)

Brothers, think of what you were when you were called.

Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him.

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord. (1 Corinthians 1 26-31)

You were once in unbelief, whether you came to faith in maturity or were born to the Pastors wife, you needed to come to your OWN surrender of your rebellion (and if you have not, you do still need to)

God has no grandchildren.

We each need to choose to submit in and for ourselves, we will stand alone before God, so don't rely on anyone else to get you there and don't make anyone else dependent upon you for their salvation.

The fear of the Lord - that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding.(Job 28:28)

Whenever I use this verse the old 'so you fear your puny little god do you' comes out, wheeled out like an ageing relative to settle the matter once and for all that God is evil.

But these folk seem to forget (or maybe never read far enough to know) that God never gave us a spirit of fear, and in this verse he is referring to non believers who DO need to come to a point where they FEAR God before they can get the wisdom to shun 'evil and come to 'understanding'.

Nobody can be saved from a danger they refuse to, or cannot recognise.

Heaven and Hell are written in scripture, we cannot ignore that, even if unbelievers choose to do so.

Therefore we need to make reference to it when we tell people what God states about THEIR condition.

It's not that believers WANT people to go to Hell, it's not even that God wants people to go to Hell, but it's a fact that God MUST provide some place where people who refuse to be in relationship with Him can go to on their return to the spiritual plain, and by necessity that place MUST be a God free zone, i.e. by His Grace God will allow them to exist for eternity in a place where He does not exercise His authority.

Think carefully before you dismiss the fact that unless you choose otherwise, you will go to that place.

That MUST be Hell, because an awful lot of people who deny Christ and God are not actually all that nice, they seem to be more concerned with their OWN WILL than that of others, they get abusive when anybody disagrees with them..... you get my drift.

Imagine sharing eternity with Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot at the top table, with every serial killer, rapist, paedophile, murderer. liar and thief as your room-mates?

That's why God tells us:

Keep reminding them of these things.

Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. (2 Timothy 2:14-16)

When we are entreating the world to seriously consider whether Jesus was telling the truth about who He is and why He came, if we expect them to try and understand that God WOULD and DID send His ONLY son to die for the sins of mankind, we need to do no more than establish REASONABLE DOUBT that what they believe or don't believe is in error, and that they need to examine the argument for living in Christ before they stand in judgement before God.

Once anybody does that with an open heart, the Holy Spirit can lead them to all truth.

Sometimes we need to loose them from their demons before that can happen.

Sometimes we are too late to do so, their hearts are so hardened that neither we nor the Holy Spirit can reach them.

God desires that ALL will be saved, but will not overrule the free will He gave us, to force that to happen, that's why we need to surrender our free will and chose to live by Gods will.

Yet not as I will, but as you will. (Matthew 26:39)

It is not coincidence that a Satanic creedo is 'Do as you will is the extent of the law'. Satan knows that whilst we are exercising our 'free will' we are ever more in his power.

And the fools don't even realise it, they think Satan does not exist!

...been there, got the 'T' shirt

I was a nihilist for quite a long while, it's a comforting thought to think you simply cease to exist when you die.

Even more comforting, if you progress to believing in an afterlife, is that we all just 'merge' with 'spirit'.........I tried that for a while also.

I almost joined one of Britain's most coveted covens, led by the King of the Witches, but knew before I started that my Machiavellian character would use the power on offer for 'black' purposes.

I've been around the block and have been a spiritual whore, starting with the Bhagavad Gita when I was 14 and onward through most major religions until I was working on the 'other team', but thankfully Christ can clean all that up and turn you into a 'born again virgin' spiritually as easy as that.

The key is in surrendering the rebellion that Satan puts into our souls and that we relish so much.

This is not a complete work, and may stretch into several hubs IF anybody finds merit in doing so.

Your comments are more than welcomed, they are required, because I do hold myself accountable to the whole body of Christ, whichever denomination Christ has chosen to hide them in!

NB: I study with my King James bible, but for hubs tend to use the NIV (after checking the verity) as it read easier for non believers.
