What Do You have A Heart For?

What is means to be God's Child.

Who am I? As a child I attended the Methodist Church. I became a member before I attended kindergarten. I participated in just about every activity they had that was for children/youth, from singing in the choir to ushering as well as being a delegate to conferences. At the time there was no separate Children’s Church. I even taught vacation Bible School when I was only twelve. While growing up fortunately I got the privilege to attend many different types of worship services. I have always loved worship! There is nothing to compare to a good Spirit filled worship service!

What I learned growing up!

Once I became a teenager I was able to attend the chaparoned dances that they had at the Catholic Church on Fridays. I did more observing than dancing. What a contrast. This was different because I was not aware of any other Church that had dances? Teas, Ice cream socials yes, but dances? Well, when I think about it there were those who danced around in worship but they called it “shouting.” There is a difference I know!

I also want to mention I did most of the things that normal (if there is such a thing as normal now) children do growing up. I spent a lot of time at home reading, as well as talking to my Mom, since I was her only daughter among my many brothers. I took piano lessons, took photography, went to the movies, loved playing with all my dolls, excelled in school, played occasionally at the park, and participated in school plays. This is not at all to say I had a halo. But I was never rude to my parents, Yes, but I too occasionally got scolded for being too opinionated or talking a bit too much.

I can remember one time having to sit briefly in the corner while still in kindergarten. It was for talking. However, then my teacher whisked me up and drove me home so I would not be late? She favored me and really liked me! From this point she really took a special interest in my learning. This helped me to discover the benefits of learning how to be quiet and just observing what was going on all about me. Socializing can be fun but we must also learn how to bridle our tongues! I learned this at an early age. To become more disciplined. It is interesting to see how we all are so very uniquely different. We each are born with an unique temperament!

There are many different kinds of worship

Over the years I have attended numerous worship services with Methodists, Baptists, The Church of God in Christ, Seventh day Adventist, African Methodist, Church of God, Catholic, Evangelical, Assembly of God, Interfaith, Roman Catholic Non Denominational, I have even attended a Buddhist ceremony as well as visited a Mosque. The ceremony was a funeral for a person I knew but did not know that they were Buddhist until I arrived at the ceremony. I still went to the ceremony, but as expected I did not or would NOT bow...I found out firsthand that there is a difference in what how they worship!

I have studied with the Jehovah Witnesses as well as the Mormons. There were many in my neighborhood that were Mormons. I wanted to have a better understanding of various beliefs and religion. Yes, I learned that there is a definite difference. This helped me to be able to hold steadfast to my Christian beliefs.

I am a whole Bible believing Christian! It is important to Know God's Word and what you believe. I knew that there was a call on my life so I attended Seminary to further educate myself in the Word of God. Through all of this I have acquired a growing thirst in thoroughly enjoying spending time in the Word of God. His Word has become so vibrantly alive and precious to me my understanding continues to flourish. The Lord is a surely the only sure solid foundation. It is very important to take time to; "BE STILL & KNOW!"

My ministry and traveling experiences

I/we my husband and I together have traveled far and wide to many countries and attended various modes of worship abroad as well. We together have traveled and taken groups on tour as well and have personally funded our travel expenses and our outreach ministry and supported the local Church as well. I say this only to show the level of our commitment to the Lord, and His Church as well as to one another!

We have produced and recorded many of the San Francisco Bay area Gospel Artists in ministry. This has given me a clear understanding of the planning, hard work, commitment, sacrifices, spiritual warfare, responsibilities and challenges it takes to get a quality Gospel recording project from start to completion. As well as air play and international exposure! Ministry must go beyond the walls.

We the people are God's Church! The Gospel of Christ Jesus must go beyond the Walls! Being a Christian is supposed to be an everyday lifestyle. If you want to sing, preach, proclaim and or teach for the Lord it really must be for more than fame or being on the stage or merely in the spotlight!

The Message in song is powerful when the Psalmists is dedicated to whatever they are singing about it can be an amazing experience... Music ministry is much more than singing a song you like because you can sing. We have learned much about the music industry which has changed dramatically due to the major advancements in technology! Down through the years we have supported many... I am most thankful for the exposure because it has given me/us a much deeper perspective and richer love for the Lord.

GOD has a plan for our lives

GOD really does have a plan for each one of our lives. Seek daily His Will and Way for your life. Having God in your life really does make all the difference in the world. I and thankful to have truly learned how to TRUST GOD! GOD IS ALWAYS & FOREVER GOOD!

Balance is very important in life. God did not create us just for religion. There are many religions and beliefs. But there is only ONE TRUE GOD! HE is the GOD of Abraham, Jacob and Isaac the Creator & Maker of this world. He is also the God and Abba Father of us. He created us in order to have an intimate personal ongoing daily relationship with Him. Learning to discipline oneself in life is so very important. The Word of God is or life manual! "Ministry Beyond The Walls" is very important! Christianity is supposed to be a daily lifestyle! A growing relationship with God helps to bring balance to our lives. Discipline is necessary in a loving relationship between a parent and a child. It helps to build healthy boundaries. As believers; are we not God's children. Discipline is necessary in ministry, when studying, seeking higher education, becoming an athlete, acquiring a skill, developing a career or learning a trade. Notice how easy one can get off track. This is why we must continually learn to be disciplined!

Learning how to “Be STILL & KNOW!” is quite rewarding. It is important to daily spend time alone with GOD in HIS WORD! To take time to listen so you can be able to discern HIS still small voice above the noise of this world. Being still; is also a form of discipline. Quieting your mind allows you to expand your spiritual insight. It is here you will discover that you are never really alone. It was during those times of quiet stillness you will begin to ascertain a mode of discipline that one can translate to other areas of your life.

We are forever becoming

Life is really about forever learning. You never get to the place you know it all. We are “forever becoming”! During my life quest I have discovered regardless of what I do, or wherever I am; who I really and truly am is; God’s Child. It is within HIM I have gained true "Security & Significance!" His love is everlasting and ever unfolding. From time to time there are some things that we have to go through in life that may not be pleasant. I might even have to resort again to standing in the corner and just being quiet sometimes (smile).

Whatever you are going through, know that you are not alone. It is important to always; "Be still and know!" I am so thankful to know that as His child He is the ultimate Abba Father who loves me. In fact His Word tells me He loves you too because He is Love! He loves me so much that He allowed Christ Jesus to come into my heart and let me know that no matter how young or old I get I will always be His Child! I am thankful for His plan of salvation and His precious gift of eternal life! I am thankful for HIS HOLY SPIRIT: HIS COMFORTER that leads me to all TRUTH that HE has given Me!

I now know for sure that wherever I am or wherever I go, God is right there He will never leave or forsake me! “The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And He is not served by human hands, as if He needs anything, because He Himself gives all men life and breath and everything else. From one man He made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He determined the times set for them and they exact places they should live. God did this so that men would seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. For it is in Him we live and move and have our being.” (Acts 17)

YES LORD!!! I am still becoming... However, I know without a doubt, that I/we were created to praise GOD! Who am I? I am HIS! I am GOD'S Child!
