I Fast and Pray but no Results

Updated on April 19, 2015

Do you find yourself after a good fast only feeling spiritual growth? You do what you're taught to do, but never the results you seek. Well. There could be a number of reasons you're not finding what you're seeking. When you fast and pray it has to be done right. Now I bet you say ... how do I fast and pray right? There's only one way? No. Fasting can be done in all forms of fashions. But to achieve the greatest potential let's go through a few steps.

Step One Keep Quiet

The Bible tells us to fast and pray and keep it to ourselves. Not expressing it to impress others or searching for sympathy or praise. Listen to what the Bible says.

Matthew 6:16

Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Step Two Make a Vow

Make up your mind how long you will fast and make that vow to Father God. But don't make a vow you're not going to keep. Most important ... never think you can only pay a vow with money. There are numerous ways of vowing. But if you don't keep it, this would be like ... telling a lie to Father God

Ecclesiastes 5: 4-5

When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay.

Step Three It's not Just Food

Fasting doesn't always mean food. It's got to be something you love doing. Human needs such as sleeping, watching Television, searching the internet, cooking, even gambling. Yes. Anything that you love doing in the "Flesh". When you fast & pray it's Father God's time. You're making that flesh take a back seat. Which leaves room for wisdom and our father looks forward to sharing his with us. That's where prayer comes in.

Prayer is your focal point. We pray as we speak. That's why this is the best time to study the Bible. All of sudden his "Word" comes natural to you. Even if you read one scripture a day you would be surprised how much wisdom you'd achieve. Yes. Father God will speak as long as you listen. Only you know how much time to spend in his word.

Enjoy Your Blessing

Try these steps and get your breakthrough. Always remember there's nothing too complicated for Father God. We do things for a reason and if its done right you will certainly see results.

God bless.
