If Salvation is Free What DO We Do With These Scriptures

Virtually all professing Christ today believe that Salvation is free, provided by Christ, you cannot affect it with your works. But have you ever checked scripture for yourself to see if that is true?

Today the vast majority of those professing to “of Christ” feed at the table of their choice and accept as they are taught, that they are being fed the truth. But scripture says we are each responsible for what we believe and that we are to be as the Bereans and test all things to see if they be of God. For whatever reason most do not do that.

All those professing to be modern day church leaders make a great deal about Free this and Free that. But Scripture is not nearly as generous. They teach and promote an easy gospel and neglect to teach many important things, some that can keep you from entering the eternal kingdom of God. They all have their own lists of do's and dont's. But scripture gives us only one list of does and dont's and none of the churches of man use that list. They all take from or add to the things that Christ, the Lord of this age has set forth as His doctrines. Yet the Apostles that walked with Him say “if anyone brings another gospel other than the one we have taught you let them be an anathma”. Do not follow them, get away from them.

Gal 1:6-9

⁶I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, ⁷which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.⁸But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. ⁹As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

Then we have more warnings and guidance from these same men. They tell us that in the real church of Jesus Christ there can be no divisions, all must understand, believe and follow the same thing, the Gospel of Christ only. (all must be of the same Spirit, the Spirit of God which is also in Christ and must be in each of His disciples). But ALL modern church system “divisions” follow a different doctrine then Christ gives us. Are they correct and scripture wrong?

All the churches proudly say, contrary to scripture. That they are a division of what they call christianity. But based on the following scriptures, How can that be?

1 Cor 1:10-13

¹⁰Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. ¹¹For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you. ¹²Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul,(baptist)" or "I am of Apollos,(Methodist)" or "I am of Cephas,(insert your church name here)" or "I am of Christ." ¹³Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

1 Cor 3:2-4

2 I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; ³for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men? ⁴For when one says, "I am of Paul," and another, "I am of Apollos," are you not carnal?

Jude 16-19

¹⁶These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. ¹⁷But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:¹⁸how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. ¹⁹These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

Is Salvation free or are there requirements?

Do Your Works have a place in receiving your Salvation?

Lets look at some scriptures that pertain to the end time and judgment. The day the wrath of God is poured out on the unbelievers. The day that the real disciples of Christ inherit the earth, receive their salvation and their entry into the eternal kingdom of God. Those that have become His sons and have their names written in the Lambs book of life by the Lamb Himself Jesus Christ.

We will be looking at the new testament churches found in the book of Revelation. They are being notified of their position in regard to salvation and what is right, what is wrong and what they must do to enter the eternal Kingdom of God and also what will happen if they do not make the needed changes.

Rev 2:2-6

2 "I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars; ³and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary. ⁴Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. ⁵Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place — unless you repent. (remove your names from the book of life)

Rev 2:9-10

⁹"I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan. ¹⁰Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer. Indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Rev 2:12-16

'These things says He who has the sharp two-edged sword: ¹³"I know your works, and where you dwell, where Satan's throne is. And you hold fast to My name, and did not deny My faith even in the days in which Antipas was My faithful martyr, who was killed among you, where Satan dwells. ¹⁴But I have a few things against you, because you have there those who hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed to idols, and to commit sexual immorality. ¹⁵Thus you also have those who hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.^*16Repent, or else I will come to you quickly and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.

Rev 2:18-23

'These things says the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass: ¹⁹"I know your works, love, service, faith,^*and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first. ²⁰Nevertheless I have a few things against you, because you allow^*that woman^*Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce^*My servants to commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. ²¹And I gave her time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent.^*22Indeed I will cast her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of their^*deeds.²³I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

Rev 2:18-23

Rev 3:1-5

'These things says He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars: "I know your works, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead. ²Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have not found your works perfect before God.^*3Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. ⁴You^*have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. ⁵He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels.

Rev 3:7-12

'These things says He who is holy, He who is true, "He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens":^*8"I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it;^*for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name. ⁹Indeed I will make those of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews and are not, but lie — indeed I will make them come and worship before your feet, and to know that I have loved you. ¹⁰Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. ¹¹Behold,^*I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. ¹²He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name.

Rev 3:14-22

'These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: ¹⁵"I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. ¹⁶So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,^*I will vomit you out of My mouth. ¹⁷Because you say, 'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing' — and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked — ¹⁸I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. ¹⁹As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. ²⁰Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. ²¹To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.

Rev 9:20-21

²⁰But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk. ²¹And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries^*or their sexual immorality or their thefts.

And Then Comes The End – Judgment, the Wrath of God is Poured Out

and The Sons of God are Welcomed Home as They Inherit The Earth.

God is seated on His Great White Throne and BOOKS ARE OPENED. And the Book of Life was opened. And the dead were judged by their works AND Each One was JUDGED according to his work. According to WHAT?? HIS WORKS??? But salvation does not depend on works, or does it?

Rev 20:11-15

¹¹Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them. ¹²And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God,^*and books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the Book of Life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books. ¹³The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and Death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.¹⁴Then Death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.^*15And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.

Tell me what you think of this, look at the end. Does that ring true with what you believe?

Do you believe that scripture actually says your works will determine your eternal destination.

Or can you explain away these scriptures??
