If You Were To Die Today
If you were to die today...... Do you know where you would spend eternity?
Some people might answer "Well I am a good person I've never hurt anyone." or I belong to a church and do lots of good works". So :Hopefully I will go to heaven.
The bible says:
"And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment" (Hebrews 9:27)
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. James 4:14
The bible says we can know for sure. God repeatedly gives us the assurance of our salvation in His word the Bible: God says to the believer,
"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." (2 Corinthians 5:8)
None of us are good enough.
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Isaiah 64:6
No good works can save us
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Ephesians 2:8 and 9
Jesus Paid it All
"By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ ONCE for all."
Hebrews 10:10,
"For Christ also hath ONCE suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:"
1 Peter 3:18,
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
Believe and Receive Him Today
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Romans 10:9)
"Jesus answered and said to him, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.'" (John 3:3)
Salvation Prayer - The Simple Steps:
1. Acknowledge in your heart that Jesus is Lord.
2. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
3. Believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised three days later.
4. Repent of your sins and get baptized in the name of Jesus. (Repent means to turn away)
God will forgive your sins. All of them.
Salvation Prayer
"God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."
