In Response To Norine

Updated on April 18, 2016

This is what it is about.

I answered a question posed on hub pages. It asked: "If a person is a good person but does not accept Jesus Christ, will he go to Hell?"

I answered:

Carol McNairy Wight (C McNairy Wight 1) says

God loves everyone. We will all be resurrected. Those who did not accept Christ in this life will be given chances in the next life. Christ will do anything to get us back in His fold. I do not believe in Hell, except for the Sons of Perdition. -those who knew the gospel was true by revelation from God and denied it.

Noreen then asked me:

  • Norine Williams 3 hours ago

Who told u this Carol? Explain Heb 9:27 "And it's appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment!"

    READ Heb 3:15-19!

Can u provide Scripture for your belief? I'm open for learning!

Hebrews 9:27

Hebrews speaks of the judgement day after our death. How soon after our death? Heaven is for eternity. There will be no time rush there. Who is to say how soon this judgement will come? Might there not be time for people to be taught?

"Verly, verily I say unto you,The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God:and they that hear shall live.-John 5:25

"For this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit."-Peter4:6

Hebrews 3:19

This chapter is speaking of the Heavenly calling of the Priesthood. The disciples were being admonished to follow Christ so that they could be members of the Priesthood.

"Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Jesus Christ.

The chapter goes on to speak of Moses, who came down from the mountain ready to establish the organization of the church. He wanted to give thePriesthood to his people. When he saw them worshipping the golden calf, etc. he knew that they were not worthy. Hence, the last verse:

So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief. This does not mean they could not enger heaven, but they could not hold the Priesthood at that time.

Other things I mentioned

I said that ALL men will be resurrected.

"For as in Adam all die,. even so in Christ shall all be made alive."-1 Cor.15:22

In Acts 24:15 Paul says, "There shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked." John 5:28-29 says, "For an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs shall hear His voice, and shall come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment."

I Hope this Answers Your Questions

Well, Norine, I hope this helps explain my point of view. I will be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

We cannot "choose how we go about it" if our choice is in disagreement with Christ's teachings." HE has "judged" with HIS WORD!

You do as HE commanded when STUDYING HIS WORD (Isaiah 28:10-13) which is "bit by bit;" in the right dispensation, and with the HELP of the HOLY SPIRIT; then it is "SIMPLE!"

We don't "strive" but rather BELIEVE that HE will do as HE SAID and that is "change us from glory to glory... by the Spirit of the Lord" (II Corinthians 3:18)! If done "by the Spirit of the Lord," what do we have to do but BELIEVE; having FAITH in what HE HAS SAID (Romans 1:17) so much until actions are manifested in our lives for the whole world to see!

No "issues!" I'm only telling TRUTH and giving WORD something that RELIGION hasn't given MOST!

I pray you READ Scriptures to "see" GOD has SAID every WORD I've given and all HE wants us to do is BELIEVE!

I did not say our salvation is up to you or I. I said we choose how to go about it, whether it be in agreement with Christ's teachings or not. Of course He will be the judge.

Tchnicalities of scriptures- I meant you are making the SIMPLE scriptures difficult by examining them bit by bit.

By doing our best in this life I meant striving to be in tune with the Father and following His commandments.

I feel that you are making issues where there are none. I say once again, we both believe the same thing. I suggest we end this discussion now.

      "Correction" (I Timothy 3:16); ONLY!

The reason there are 33,000+ denominations in the US alone, is because "there is no judgment ("correction") in their goings" (Isaiah 59:8) and when IT is given, MOST see as "your beliefs" although the WORD of GOD is given! However, Scripture says "Woe unto them who call evil good and good evil" (Isaiah 5:20)!

Therefore, it's not "up to you nor I" BUT rather what the WORD of GOD says!

There are no "technicalities of the Scriptures!" II Corinthians 11:3 says "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the SIMPLICITY that is in Christ" which confirms; being in Christ is "SIMPLE" all one has to do is "obey" HIS commands!

Scripture says in I Corinthians 8:5 "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there by gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but ONE GOD, the Father, "OF" whom are all things, and we "IN" him; and ONE Lord Jesus Christ, "BY" whom are all things, and we "BY" him." Therefore, IF one doesn't believe WHAT IS WRITTEN; "We both don't believe in the SAME Jesus Christ... and I certainly don't believe in "doing my best in this life" but BELIEVE the HOLY SPIRIT works through me "changing me from glory to glory" (II Corinthians 3:18) based on my "level of FAITH" (Romans 1:17)!

My comments are in no way meant to be "belittling" but rather to "correct" with the WORD of GOD as I've been "commanded!"

I pray that "the eyes of your "understanding" be enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints" (Ephesians 1:18)!

I have no desire to get into the technicalities of the scriptures with you. We both believe in Jesus Christ, we both believe in the resurrection, and we both believe in doing our best in this life. However we go about it is up to you and I. I wish you the best and appreciate your dedication to your beliefs.

Carol: Something lead me back to "correct" your erroneous response!

II Corinthians 6:1-2 "We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the GRACE of GOD in vain. (v2) (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: BEHOLD, "NOW" IS THE ACCEPTED TIME; BEHOLD, "NOW" IS THE DAY OF SALVATION."

Therefore NO - "There is not another time for people to be taught!" Hebrews 9:27 says "man is destined to die once and after that "the judgment" so what "time" is there to be taught?

John 5:25 says "they that "hear" shall live" Didn't John 10:27 "My sheep hear my voice?" Yes, all will "resurrect", but not ALL will "hear HIS voice!" It's like that TODAY when truth is given, ALL hear (naturally) but ALL don't "understand" (Matt13:10-13) or "hear" (Spiritually) and is why Scripture says "Whoever has ears (Spiritual) let them hear" (Matthew 11:15)! You're getting hearing with natural ears confused with "hearing" with spiritual ears!

John 5:29 says "And [ALL] shall come forth, they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation." Now how is anyone going to get a "second chance" or did JESUS LIE?

Concerning I Peter 4:6 Jesus DIED and gave the gift of GRACE under a NEW COVENANT! Being the JUST GOD that HE is, HE "went into the grave and preached THE GOSPEL to the dead so that those who had died as "prisoners" ( I Peter 3:19) under the OLD COVENANT would be judged by the SAME law as those under the NEW COVENANT! This will NEVER occur again for the New Covenant law has been preached to the prisoners! We are now [dead and alive men] under the same laws and ready for judgment by the same standards under the New Covenant because Jesus "preached to the prisoners that they might be judged according to men in the flesh" (I Peter 4:6)!

Hebrews 3:19 NO ONE can enter the kingdom IF they "don't believe!" What would you have FAITH in if you "don't believe?" It does mean you can't enter heaven (also) if you "don't believe!" I hope you're not thinking you can make it in and "don't believe?" Acts 16:31 says "BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be SAVED..." but it's not saying "believe there IS a Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved" it's saying Believe on HIS WORD which is the Lord Jesus Christ or The Gospel of Christ (aka GRACE) and thou shalt be SAVED!"

Concerning I Corinthians 15:22 "For as in Adam all die (sin), even so "IN CHRIST" shall all be made alive." This does not mean "all have been made alive BECAUSE OF Christ!" One MUST be "IN CHRIST" and the ONLY WAY one can get INTO CHRIST is by being "born again" (John 3:7) or receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit for a DIRECT "Communication Line" to HIM!

Acts 24:15 Just because there's going to be "a resurrection" of both the righteous and wicked" doesn't mean "the wicked is going to get a "second chance!" Did not John 5:29 say "...they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation" or did JESUS LIE? Where's room for a "second chance?"

I pray you don't believe you or anyone else for that matter is going to receive "a second chance" after death! Anyone who does; defies Scripture!

Very interesting. You laid out your position well. Perdition being the exception makes sense.
