Interpretation Error that Causes Confusion about the Book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ
Interpretation Error that causes Confusion About The
Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ
Much confusion is caused by many of those that teach on the book of Revelation without correctly understanding what the Book of Revelation is really about.
What is the Book of Revelation about?
Most that try to explain that the book of John's Revelation say it is an end time explanation but that is not true. While it does include end times revelation the first line of the book says the following: Rev 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants — things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
Do see it? The book of Revelation is a revealing of who Jesus Christ the son of God really is.
It tells us who He is, His authority, His place in this final age of man and His place in eternity which follows this final age of man for those who belong to Him. Also the future of those who do not belong to Him. In other words the future of all mankind. It also tells us about the eternity that those of His will inherit on the earth but the purpose of this book is to reveal Who Jesus really is. So we must look at this book from this prospective. It is going to reveal to us who this Jesus Christ the son of God really is. It also tells us what happens at the Great white throne judgment and includes an introduction to eternity which follows the end of all mankind. Those belonging to Christ go into eternity and become Spirits and those who do not go into the lake of fire with satan and his minions and are destroyed thus the end of all mankind.
Matt 7:13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
To understand this correctly we have to look to scripture, not bibles for truth. Of course it you are truly born again and baptized in the Holy Spirit and have learned to hear Him He will show you truth no matter what bible you use. If you want confirmation an Interlinear bible will show you a word for word translation of scripture and the words that have been added to most bibles that change the meaning to fit the beliefs of the interpreters and are NOT IN SCRIPTURE.
We must understand the following
John 3:5-8 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit."
This verse tells us two things. To belong to Christ, which is the only way to enter the kingdom of God, we must be born again and we must be baptized in water and filled with (baptized in) the Holy Spirit. This is the only way we can understand the things of God, by having His Spirit living in us and obeying His Spirit instead of our own.. To understand scripture you must be walking “in the Spirit” because the carnal (natural) man cannot understand the things of God.
John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
1 Cor 11:3-4 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ, the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.
Without this infilling of the Holy Spirit of God, that also Filled Jesus we cannot understand spiritual things but once we are filled with the Holy Spirit of God we have become a Spiritual person and are one with God, His first born Son, Jesus and ALL others of this same Spirit. We have now become Spiritual sons (male and female) of the Living God. Now and only after this, we become empowered to correctly understand scripture. Now because the Holy Spirit of God lives in us we are able to Know all things because the Holy Spirit , the essence of God , That Lives in all of His sons, we can correctly understand all things because His Holy Spirit has been with Him, God, from the beginning and we now have access to that knowledge. This explains what Jesus meant when He said He and His Father are of one Spirit and if you have seen Me you have seen the Father, which we also have become, as scripture tells us we must to become a son of God. Now you should understand why scripture says there are to be no schisms or separations and we must be all of the one Spirit, the Spirit of God, to be “of Christ”. You should now also understand that there is only one body of Christ that consists of ALL who truly are His. And you should see that all denominations and other things that separate those supposedly belonging to God are an abomination in God's eyes because they do not promote The church of Jesus Christ, but another separate one that is not of Him.
John 10:26-30 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you. 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. 30 I and My Father are one."
1 Cor 6:17 But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
Eph 2:18 For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.
Eph 4:4-5 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; 5
Phil 1:27 Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit,
A great many who try to teach about the Book of Revelation are not born of the Spirit of God and therefore cannot understand scripture correctly. In fact these same people rely on bibles that they consider to be scripture, but they are not scripture, they are interpretation of scripture and include the beliefs and prejudices of the interpreters and therefore cannot be trusted just as they cannot be trusted because they bring a false christ that scripture warns us there will be many to come..
Now we will look at some of their errors.
First they mis-interpret who is speaking.
It clearly says who is speaking, but most do not understand who this speaker actually is.
To understand this we must look at several scriptures and correctly understand them.
Rev 1:1-6 — things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.
4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
This verse clearly shows several things. He sent this message by His angel to John. His angel is simply His messenger. It shows us God who was “From the beginning” and “who is to come” at the end of this age when Christ who God has given All authority until the end of this final age of man, returns all authority to God, who again has total and complete authority for eternity.
When He who is to come has come. God who was from the beginning, the alpha, who had delegated His authority to the Levites for the age of Israel, then to Jesus for this final age of man, will the be once again be all in all for eternity. He who was to come is then the omega, the last and will be for eternity. It also shows what Jesus has accomplished during His reign, He has made us, His people Kings and Priests to HIS Father, showing again He is not God, but the son of God as Scripture has prophesied, the Word of God, scripture, had foretold.
Rev 1:8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega”, says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty."
This is who is speaking, through His messenger, God Himself. The messenger John heard from was God through his indwelling Holy Spirit, the very essence of God within him is speaking to Him, as He does to all that truly belong to Him through Christ His Son. See below John was “in the Spirit”, one with God through His indwelling Holy Spirit. This shows also the need for the indwelling by the Spirit of God. God is and always is and was and will be God, but He delegated His authority to the Levites in the old testament and in this age of the new testament He has delegated His authority to Jesus. In the final age which “is to come” (eternity) He will receive all authority back from Jesus and will once again be all in all, totally in control forever.. eternity.
Rev 1:9-11 I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," and, "What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."
Have you noticed that if you look at the false teachings of men that they cause other scriptures to contradict each other, which is impossible when scriptures are correctly used? This is always a clue that there is a problem in the use or interpretation of scripture and should always demand your immediate attention to see what is wrong.
Rev 1:12-2:1 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; 15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; 16 He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. 18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. 19 Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this.
The messenger is the Holy Spirit, God, speaking through Jesus, the Lord of this age, who John saw, and is acting in God's place during this age as He has all authority of God during this age. The son of God is the acting God during this age until the end of this age when He returns all authority to God and sits down on His right hand in submission to God who once again and for eternity is all in all. Jesus is not God, He is God's delegated authority for this age.
1 Cor 15:28 Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all.
Rev 22:16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things in the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, the Bright and Morning Star."
All this that John received is from the Holy Spirit who is the very essence of God, God Himself. Although Jesus was involved in the delivery the message is delivered by the Holy Spirit, God Himself. Only those of one Spirit with God and with Jesus can truly understand these things as they are Spiritual and only those of the one same Spirit of God can understand and receive them. That is the reason for the confusion brought by so many of those that profess to explain the Revelation of John. They are of a different spirit, not the Spirit God, so they are unable to understand or correctly impart the correct understanding of scripture. They bring a message of carnal man, not of God.
God bless you as You pursue His truths.
