Interview With THE ADVERSARY Of ALL TIME, Part 3/5

Lew was becoming unhinged. This humanimal was becoming a madman more or less. He resumed his cursing. He pulled me up, warning me NEVER to insult him again. He plopped me down on the couch, continuing with the "interview".

Lew explained that while he set the fuse so to speak, it was humankind who fell for the pitch hook, line, and sinker. He stated that humankind elected to pursue its baser and coarser nature instead of its more divine nature. He strongly asserted from the beginning, humankind innately believed that it was better to follow its divine nature although it was much easier and preferrable to follow its coarser nature.

Lew elaborated the innumerable rewards humankind was awarded for succumbing to its baser instincts. He stated that the insititution of enslavement benefitted many societies, including modern ones. I strongly contended that there was no such thing as slavery in modern societies. He strongly disagreed. He explained that an overwhelming majority of the modern capitalistic, free enterprise system is based on slavery of one kind or another.

Now I was taking umbrage regarding this issue. I angrily informed Lew that he was prevaricating. He stood up angrily, stating that CEOs are becoming wealthier upon the backs of the workers. He further explained that the average worker has a barely liveable wage.

I asserted to Lew that most people today have access to all types of education. I further added that they can improve themselves if they wanted to take the responsibility to do so. I contended that many people preferred the easy way out. I explained that many people want the glory without doing the work.

Lew then glared at me, stating that what I am saying was utter bullmanure. He stated that many people work hard all their life but are still at the poverty or near poverty level. He asserted that the majority of workers or employees are latter day slaves. He elucidated that employees can be fired by their employers for no reason whatsoever. He added that even if the employee contest their termination, the boss usually wins as he/she is often looked upon more favorably than the employee.

Lew stated that the average wage of employees nowadays is barely sustainable. He indicated that an employee is about two paychecks at the most away from homelessness. As I was about the explain the situation, he abruptly cut me off. He then discussed the issue of homelessness.

Lew asserted why is there still homelessness if humankind has purportedly evolved. I explained that sometimes there are unforeseeable circumstances. He interjected that I was quite naive about real life. He continued that the main reason why there is homelessness is one word. I was quite perplexed. He bellowed at me to not be a pantywaist as I knew how the game was played.

I asked Lew what did he mean. He told me to man up and stop being a little boy. He explained that GREED or AVARICE is the cause of homelessness today. He stated that landlords and managers raise the rent for their benefit, not the benefit of the tenants, shareholders, and/or homeowners involved. He explained that those who can pay, fine and those who are unable to pay are left in the dust proverbially and literally. I told Lew that it is the survival of the fittest. I said those who can, survive and those who cannot, well, they are not babies but adults who should face up to their individual responsibilities.

Lew informed me that I was taking quite a view of life. He shouted to me to stop quoting Darwin. He added that he was quite nonplussed at my nonchalant attitude towards humankind. I explained that many people are poor and behind because they refuse to plan and take the necessary risks in order to succeed. I maintained that many people want something for nothing. I added that life is not a free ride! I steadfastly maintain that if one works hard, one does succeed.

Lew sneered at me, asking how DID I know. He then tore into me-verbally this time! He stated that I was born into a wealthy family. He further shouted that I never had to work hard in my life- so shut the $#%^#@! up! He continued to state that there are many people who did not have the same opportunities that I had. He declared that such people were between a rock and a hard place. He glared at me, indicating that life is extremely hard for those who do not have any connections.

I said that today there is absolutely no excuse for people not to succeed as there is all kinds of opportunities out there. Lew rudely interrupted me again, asking me what opportunities. I explained that with the internet, there are opportunities now which were nonexistent decades ago. He just nodded at me quite perplexed.

Lew further explained that while that is true, the majority of people work at jobs that could be described as well, undesirable. He stated that many people just tolerate their jobs but are there because of benefits. He asserted that only a small minority of people actually enjoyed their jobs. I interjected so to whose fault was that.

Lew told me that I was typical of the elite. I retorted that I never considered myself to be one of the elite. I reiterated to him that everyone has the same opportunities but some people are just lazy and wound find any excuse not to accomplish their dream.

Lew started to laugh uproariously. He pontificated that humankind is in its worst state now. He maintained that humankind is now more debased than ever before. He relayed how people would do almost anything for money and fame these days. I told him that he was going off the subject. He reassured me that he was not.

Lew asserted that people are so desperate for money that they would actually prostitute themselves metaphorically and literally. He stated that in corporations, people play the upmanship game in order for them to look favorable to their boss. He indicated that in this economic climate, people are more hungry than ever to succeed. He maintained that the level of desperate is quite horrific.

I told Lew that he was exaggerating. Lew stop smiled, snarling that he was telling the truth. He stated that this corporate atmosphere reminded him of the gladiators in ancient Rome. Employees are competing with one others for a measly price whether it is a monetary raise, advancement in one's career track, or the ultimate prize, the front office. I informed him that there was nothing wrong with that- it is the corporate game.

Lew stated that there are people who would go through great lengths to get what they want, without any consideration of how their actions harm others. I informed him that he was being way too cynical and pessimistic regarding the state of humankind. He asserted that he was seriously.............mortally serious.

Lew maintained that humankind is on its way to total and utter self-destruction as a species. He maintained that humankind has found even more artificial barriers and constructs to divide each other. He asserted that by now, humankind ought to have evolved to near divine, if not divine genius. I informed him that he had a hand in corrupting humankind. His face darkened and he uttered a quite chilling hiss. I heard Adele's voice and I wanted to see what she wanted.

Adele pulled me inside the library. She reiterated to me to beware. I eased her fears, informing her that I was fine. She told me that Lew was extremely dangerous. I said sure, sure, sure! I told her that even though Lew was vastly different from anyone I have interviewed before, he was not that bad!

I decided to take a 10 minute break from the "interview". I went into the kitchen to pour some orange juice. Lew walked into the kitchen, asking me what was the problem. I told him that I was taking a break. I further informed him that this is my interview and I am the one who is calling the shots so to speak. He just smiled and walked away.

Adele told me to be careful of Lew. She related a Biblical verse to me. I told her that I was fine but she adamantly told me to listen to her. She stated that he was not of this world. I just looked at her quizzically. She repeated to me to be extremely alert because he is full of tricks. I said to her, come on now. She stated that she was extremely serious regarding the matter. She asserted that I was definitely not his match...............
