Inspirational, Uplifting and Encouraging Bible Verses: Job 23:10-11 - Refined as Gold, Shaped and Molded like Clay
“But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. My feet have closely followed his steps; I have kept to his way without turning aside.” Job23:10-11
My family gathers together every AM for Bible study before I drive the kids to school. We just finished the book of Job, who was tested to the absolute extreme.
In times of trouble, we can think of him. He showed both human weakness and astounding resolve at the same time. He was tested by God, according to His purpose, and came out of it even stronger than before. In doing so, he provides a great model for us. A few of my favorite quotes:
Job 31:1-3
“I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman.” This one carries meaning to us men out there, as reminder of how to view beautiful women. As just that, God’s created. Direct our desire where it belongs, toward our wives.
Job 2:8 -10
His wife said to him, “Are you still maintaining your integrity? Curse God and die!”
Job’s wife, weakened by the struggles they had endured, had given up and become angry at God. Job, exercising leadership when it counted, refused to curse God and was greatly blessed for it later.
Job 40: 15 – 19
15 “Look at Behemoth,
which I made along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.
16 What strength it has in its loins,
what power in the muscles of its belly!
17 Its tail sways like a cedar;
the sinews of its thighs are close-knit.
18 Its bones are tubes of bronze,
its limbs like rods of iron.
19 It ranks first among the works of God,
This one I love. In my view, not wishing to prompt a debate, describes a Brontosaurus! Just something to ponder in the Creation vs. Evolution argument.
In any event, today’s message tells us that trials will refine us, as a furnace or flame refines gold. We come out on the other end shiny and robust, stronger than before.
