Journey in a Life

Updated on July 12, 2012

Passages

The concoction, a potion

Courtesy of two

Creation gave the motion

Guiding me to you

---------------------------

Life survives commotion

Typical, times two

Seedy, new location

Unlikely finding you

----------------------------

Paths lead to destination

Wings carry through

Deny my protestation

Winding roads to you

----------------------------

No burning bush to revelation

No easy answers grew

Time and tears to evolution

Long journey leads to you

---------------------------------

The years grant consolation

Experience, a new view

Looking to off far constellation

Giving higher power it's due

----------------------------------

My knowing not a concession

The sky is blue

My word, no procession

A gift, homage to you

Lead me to your door

A beautiful poem and so well expressed. It is not the end, but the opening of a door into something so much better.

Awwww, thanks Sylvia. I consider you to be an extraordinary writer, so I am very complimented by your words. The burning bush is exactly what my grandmother told me...exactly. I think about her alot these days. She told me to listen for her whispers. Thank you, my brilliant friend.

Amy, Amy, Amy... Your writing always shows your heart. I love how you find songs to enhance what you've written and this is one of my favorites from the Beatles. We don't always have a burning bush experience. Sometimes we have to listen for that still, small voice... Blessings!

That is the most beautiful prayer I've ever heard, Neil. It strikes at the heart of what everyone needs to be fully happy. And, in effect, it is a pay it forward ideology. When something that great happens, it shows and it grows on and on and on. Thank you, Neil!

Love your depth - came back to re-read and offer you a prayer.

Amy - My prayer for you is huge.

1- I pray you find someone - a life partner - who can love to the depths and beauty you do.... and together you both learn to love even deeper.

2- I pray you share a life of happiness together in beauty and love that simply grows deeper

3- I pray you together have a life of prosperity and good health

4- I pray your combined love lifts and touches those around you and leads them to the life of beauty and inner growth

5- I pray that together with this man, happiness and beauty becomes your every day experience

You are special - love yourself huge... !!!!!

How many times have we've wandered in the desert looking for our burning bush to finally tell us the way? More times than I would truly admit. An awesome poem, thank you for sharing with us.

drbj, you managed to get a vocal "awwwwww" out of me. My Scottie, who is sitting right beside me, looked at me quizzically, tilting his beautiful head, as if to say "What's that all about." He understands "treat", "outside" and inflections in my voice, but he'll not ever know how wonderful it is to read or hear such words, as yours.

Neil, you really pay attention. You really get it. I shouldn't be surprised as I see those qualities in your writing. You have the ability to convey complicated statistics and relate information that "twists around the neurons in a knot" into simple analogies that reveal the core of the matter. Thank you for giving me your time and attention. I value that.

      This stanza grabbed me -

"The years grant consolation... Experience, a new view... Looking to off far constellation... Giving higher power it's due" It is statements like this, that take us in your writing to "the depth within YOU," where this writing comes from.

      Love - Light - Laughter
