Who is Your Joseph?

Updated on November 9, 2019

Identify Your Joseph and Make Use of Him

A lot of Managing Directors never know their Josephs. Are you a C.E.O, Director or a Manager somewhere else or even in your own company? If so, then its good, but I got a question for you and my question is “at your workplace, do you know who is your Joseph?” But before all I proceed let me first tell you who is Joseph because you might be asking yourself “who is Joseph and how can I know him.” Simply, shortly and clearly Joseph is the blessings' gate of your workplace. I means he is the gateway of all your blessings and prosperity, that is, through him your business, farm, company or organisation flourish. Typically, there must be somebody in your business, farm, company or organisation through whom God can pour down His blessings, and that man is the Joseph I asked you before.

Now I think you can answer my question, isn’t? Anyway, I know some are now asking themselves “Now how can I identify him please?” Well, it is very simple and it doesn’t need you to be either a prophet or an awesome man of God to identify him, no, even a Gentile can manage it.., Yes, he can know him, just watch out the results of whatever he does. For Joseph whatever he does prospers, because the Lord always gives him success in everything he does. Genesis 39:3.

So never be blind brother, when you see that, obviously know that the favor of God is with that man, then that is your Joseph. It does not need a prophecy at all and that’s why even Captain Potiphar the Egyptian nevertheless was a gentile, yet he identified him quickly.

Read Genesis 39:2-6b

“2. The lord was with Joseph and He prospered him, and he lived in the house of his master.3 When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, 4 Joseph found favor in his eyes and became his attendant. Potiphar put him in charge of his household, and all he entrusted to his care everything he owned. 5 From the time he put him in charge of his household and of all he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph. The blessing of the Lord was on everything Potiphar had, both in the house and in the field. 6 So he left in Joseph’s care everything he had; with Joseph in charge, he didn’t concern himself with anything except the food he ate”

And here is the hidden treasure, only identifying Joseph will not help you unless you recognize him and use him as Potiphar did. Potiphar not only recognized Joseph but also he acknowledged him and put him in charge of all his household and entrusted him everything he owned. And you know what happened when Potiphar put Joseph in charge of his businesses. Guess what happened…. Potiphar’s house and business prospered. Yes, Potiphar’s businesses flourished, read carefully Genesis 39:5 it says “From the time he put him in charge of his household and all that he owned, the Lord blessed the household of the Egyptian because of Joseph.” So as a C.E.O, Director, Manager or a Boss somewhere, you have to be vigilant on this. Know your Joseph and acknowledge him by placing him/her at his/her position for the sake of your company’s or business progress. You know what? I admire the behavior shown by Potiphar. Soon after identifying the potential in Joseph, he put him in charge, he never hesitated though it seems like even though he had put him in charge and entrusted him everything he owned, yet somehow and in some ways Potiphar was still concerned with them. Why am I saying so? Come with me to verse 6, the bible says “So Potiphar he left in Joseph’s care everything he had; with Joseph in charge and he did not concern himself with anything, anything except the food he ate.” Ooh boy…, this is wonderful! Not concerning with anything! Why please? Just because of the potential treasure he saw in joseph. And Potiphar was so correct you know…, because there was no need of him to keep bothering himself while the things he was supposed to struggle with are already fixed…, so why bother again ?!

To me the verse we just read means that at the beginning when Potiphar put Joseph in charge of everything he never did so but completely. To me it’s like Potiphar just put Joseph in charge over some stuffs but not all just as a probation period to him. The word “….. He did not concern himself with anything, anything except the food he ate” to me this tells me that once in past Potiphar concerned with some stuffs though Joseph was already in charge. It seems like even though Potiphar saw the Lord was with Joseph, still Potiphar had some doubts and therefore kept concerning with some stuffs. But when those doubts were cleared, now Potiphar decided to retire totally from being concerned with all his businesses. But read again this verse please…., “So Potiphar left in Joseph’s care everything he had; with Joseph in charge and he did not concern himself with anything, anything except the food he ate.” Wow!! I think now Potiphar talked to himself that “Ooh, deal done, now I have nothing to do than choosing what to it.” And that is what is going to happen to you once you got your own Joseph and utilize him as Potiphar did.

Now caution please!

I know knowing your Joseph will bring you great fortune and success to your company, organization or any business you are doing, but be vigilant of this please lest you get lost. Remember the words Jesus spoke in the book of Matthew 16:26 when He said “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?”

What am I saying here? I mean even though you will recognize Joseph and your businesses flourish due to that, yet you are nothing than a looser in the kingdom of God if you have never committed your life to the Lord. So you better turn back and give your life to Jesus by confessing this words with your mouth, say “Father I confess all my sins to you and I declare that Jesus is the lord and savior of my life and I believe that you raised Him from the dead” Amen.
By confessing these words you are saved, Romans 10:9-10
