Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirling is the story of the creation of Kashi Nagri which is the unique creation of the world

Updated on June 29, 2020

Kashi Vishwanath Jyotirling is in Kashi Nagari in Varanasi in Uttarpradesh. This place Kashi Nagari is created after the creation of the world. When the world was created by Lord Brahma, Vishnu and Shivji, there was something remained , that was urgent and had to be happened.

Lord Vishnu asked permission from Lord Shivji to do penance, to create something that is the urgent necessity for the human beings. But there was no place for penance. Lord Shivji created panchkosh region for Lord Vishnu's penance. Lord Vishnu did penance there for unlimited time.

Penance means to find the ideas by deep thinking that are helpful for self and the humanity.

Mountains, Oceans, Rivers, Jungles and other Natural objects were created. When Lord Vishnu arose from penance, he had seen so beautiful world with all these Natural objects. With surprisingly he noded his head and his ear wearing fell down in Panchkosh. Lord Shivji assumed it on his Trident.

By assuming on the Trident, this Manikarnika the ear wearing became so enlarged that it became the part of Earth that is called Kashi Nagari.

Kashi Nagari is the unique creation of Tridev. Lord Shivji assumed it on his Trident and had booned it for never disaster. After the Disaster of the world, Kashi Nagari would remain the same.

In some stories Lord Shivji donated Lanka Nagari of Gold, to Kuber the brother of Rawan. Goddess Paarvati annoyed at this decision. To wheedle Goddess Paarvati, Lord Shivji created Kashi Nagari with the help of Lord Brahma and Vishnu. After the creation of Kashi Shivji seated here with Goddess Paarvati .

Once there was a discussion between Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu. Lord Brahma criticized and was telling lies, Lord Shivji annoyed at some topic and in the form of Kalbhairav he had cut his fifth head with his nails. Now the fifth head hang in his nail and had not departed from his hand. This was the curse of Braham hatya But when Kalbherav reached Kashi , the head of Brahma had departed from his hand. In this way Lord Shivji free from the curse of Braham hatya.

Here in Kashi Vishwanath temple,Kalbherav temple has its own significance. Kalbhairav is called the Kotwal (the police officer )of Kashi. In the form of Kalbherav he watches and protects Kashi Nagari.

Once there was a famine in Kashi Nagari. Everybody was tortured by hunger and thirst. Lord Shivji did penance to solve this problem. He saw that Goddess Paarvati is the solution of this problem. Here's an idol of Goddess Paarvati. It is made of Gold. She is giving alms to Lord Shivji. Firstly Lord Shivji and Goddess Paarvati went around the world to find the solution. At Last they found solution by transforming Goddess Paarvati herself into the form of Ma Annapurna. Lord Shivji asked for alms for the human kind. Ma Annapurna gave rice in alms. So rice is called akshat. Akshat means never ending. In this way famin was ended with rice. After that famine never came.

Here's a Manikarnika Ghat on the bank of Ganga River. Here the dead bodies are cremated. Cremation fire is never blown off. It is said that whose dead body is cremated here he will get salvation.

Kashi Nagari realizes us the realities of life stages. It gives us the feeling of self realization. Nature doesn't differentiate. It behaves equally, it may rich or poor.

Kashi Vishwanath Temple is the unique Jyotirling where the administration of Lord Shivji is activated. This Jyotirling and the region is like CCTV. Here Lord Shivji watches all the activities of the world and makes the laws and orders according to the laws of Karma.

This Jyotirling gives us a message that everyone has a life that is given by God and equal chances are given by God and Nature. We are not the owner of all. Live and let live is the law of God. We should enjoy our life without hurting the others. We should be self centered, but not so that others are disturbed and hurt. We should make our life a precious gift that is given by God and do the right.
