Keep it under control
Do not be like a raging bull, be like a lamb
A fool gives full vent to his anger, but a wise
man keeps himself under control.
Proverbs 29:11, New International
Version
Short tempered people are like bulls with a ring through their nose and being lead by someone else. They fly off the handle and most times regret it latter.
A wise man learns to control his temper and when beginning to lose it, withdraws from the situation until his temper is under control.
As well, if you have a short fuse, take it to Jesus in prayer. Many times when I feel like I am beginning to lose it I just close my eyes and pray “Jesus, please give me the strength and wisdom to handle this situation as You would.” Many times it surprises me the amount of self control that envelopes me. A situation that could explode becomes a situation that turns out to be the best discussions and a deep respect is developed between whoever the argument is with.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, please nurture in me a life of patience. When anger begins to boil over, give me the strength and wisdom to withdraw until cooler heads prevail. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day
