Kundalini - A Short Explanation
Of Sanskrit origin, Kundalini simply means coil. In yoga tradition, Kundalini is believed to be the power that is required to attain spiritual enlightenment. Some call this ‘awakening’. Although every human has Kundalini, it is not always active and may be lying dormant near the Root Chakra. It is also believed that awakened Kundalini can open, cleanse and fully develop each of the seven major Chakras, beginning at the Root and working upwards to the Crown. When the Kundalini reaches the Crown Chakra, it is said the highest spiritual achievement has been attained. It is also said, in tradition, that very few are able to awaken their Kundalini, and even if they do, it would take many, many years, and maybe even lifetimes, to complete the process. This is an old belief system that will no longer carry any weight in the new paradigm we are currently creating for our lives on Earth. In this new paradigm, enlightenment is within reach of each and every one of us. Through meditation and allowing the energies coming to Earth via the full moons, solstices, equinoxes, etc. to transform you, is one way to awaken. Yoga also teaches many practices for awakening the Kundalini. I will leave it up to you to research and choose your own path as you are guided.
Namaste.
