Let God take hold of the steering wheel

Updated on August 29, 2011

Let God lead you through life to your purpose!

Man enjoying a close relationship with the Lord.
Man enjoying a close relationship with the Lord.

Driving down the path of life with no direction, no guidance, just swerving from lane to lane. Many people have neither direction nor any purpose to their lives. With so many lost souls out there, so many people living day to day with no life, with death being their final destination. No belief in an afterlife, no heaven, no God. This view of life could be a driving force behind some people commiting suicide, feeling empty and purposeless throughout life. How can you be lead down the right path without the right leader? The Lord Jesus Christ is the truth, light, and the life, so let go and let him take hold of the steering wheel and lead you to victory and joy! If you are one of these people and need joy and peace in your life, then accept Jesus Christ as your savior and begin your wonderful journey with God.

When you let Jesus into your life you open a door to infinite opportunities and possibilities. God works in mysterious ways by bringing you to your passion and then to your purpose. Sometimes when people turn to the Lord and let him lead them to their purpose they find that they were way off course of their purpose. One of the amazing things about journeying with God is safety, yours always in God’s hands and he will guide you safely to your purpose.

Many people try and focus on religion and laws instead of an intimate relationship with the Lord. When you follow the Lord and let him into your life, he will begin to change you. God Changes your soul and spirit, then you will notice changes in your attitude and perspective of life. Knowing that life goes on even after death with the eternal, Almighty God can change people. It’s like a weight is lifted from your shoulders having the feeling of freedom knowing that you will continue your journey with the Lord even after this life.

While God makes changes to your life, he will begin to bring people into your life. You will notice certain people who will just seem to “pop” into your life. Sometimes the people will be Christians just like you and sometimes it will be unbelievers that need to be shown the way which then allows you to show them the same thing you have learnt; that they don’t have to live with the weight of life, suffering and sin but instead have life and a close personal relationship with the one true God of everything. No matter what sins you may have done in your previous life before your journey with God will be washed away by asking Jesus to forgive you for all your sins and to wash the past away.

After a while of journeying with the Lord he will begin to reveal things to you that you may have never seen or understood before. God will show you many things throughout your life that will seem impossible but with the all powerful, infinite God all things are possible. God is amazing and will lead you towards an amazing life if you just put your trust in him and let him take hold of the steering wheel.

Hi, MThacker! I understood what you were saying. May I suggest then, that it would be better to edit your hub? Example ... "suicidal rates are so high" is your viewpoint not factual figure. In a true good writing, the author makes sure that his information is based on fact and is an established truth. Nice to be on Hubpages because we're all learning here :)

"This view of life is one of the many reasons that suicidal rates are so high." this is not meant to be aimed at all suicides, just some which is fact. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Vague ... the title of your hub was interesting but, the body lacks substance and contains some misinformation. I agree with Cagsil, not all who committed and attempted suicide do not believe in God. Some do believe, but, there are circumstances that you do not know about which led to that act. Generalization is good, but in this case, it isn't.

The tone is preachy without being pushy, which I like. Yet, there are unanswered questions, specially -- how will I let Jesus steer the wheel? When He is steering, what is my part to help Him out?

Maybe, you should rephrase your sentence "Knowing that life goes on even after death with the eternal, Almighty God can change people" because it isn't very clear.

The great thing with hubpages, it allows you to edit and make your piece a better one.

I thought this was a very well-written article; in fact it was one of the best, if not the best I've read so far - Good job. I do hope to see more of your works.

I came by your hub to check out your description of what you thought about "God taking the steering wheel", and as I read through the beginning of my hub, I was appalled to see that you are associating "suicide" rate with those who don't believe in a "god". This couldn't be further from the truth, which is why I was compelled to post a comment on your hub, otherwise, I would have just laughed and moved on.

In the beginning of your hub, you talked about letting "God take the steering wheel of your life(other people as well)", so as to bring purpose. Again, couldn't be further from the truth. A purpose for living one's life cannot be granted or given. It must be created by oneself.
