Lord Shivaji transformed himself into the form of Gopi to see Maha Rasleela of Shri Krishna and called Gopeshwer
Lord Shivaji was in meditation sitting on Kailash parwat. In meditation he heard the sound of Shri Krishna's flute. It was Sharad Poornima the night of full moon. It was the night of Shri Krishna's Rasleela. All the Gopis were present there in Vanshi Vat Van, now it's called Nidhi van. Shivraj had the curiosity to attend Rasleela. But male members could not have permission to join Rasleela. Only Lord Krishna male member was presented there.

As in the form of female he enjoyed Rasleela. But Shri Krishna recognized him and respected him. Shri Krishna gave him the name Gopeshwar Mahadev, and on that place there is a temple of Shivaji named Gopeshwar Mahadev Mandir.

At night they take the form of Gopis and Shri Krishna come here every night. At night no one is allowed to stay here or watch each and everything.
