Loving Life N The Now!

Updated on March 19, 2012

Loving Life N the Now!

God desires that we learn to love our lives right now in the moment … no matter what is going on … no matter the circumstances or situation we find ourselves experiencing. Learn to love life in that very moment!

How? I mean … How do we love our lives when we are in turmoil ...when the storms of life are buffeting us and we are overwhelmed by the waves. Is there an answer … Yes, I believe that there is but the hard part is … you have to believe it … I can't believe it for you.

God said that, “My people perish for a lack of knowledge ...” What is it that we must know in order to love our lives n the now?

We must know whose we are and the only way to know that is to know who He is … We must know the Who, What and Where of the God we love and serve.

Who He is? He is the God of every season. He is the Way, the Truth and the Life!

Where He is? He is present in every situation, in every circumstance and in every season of your life.

What He is? He is the Living Water, the Alpha and Omega …

Isaiah 46:10 - “From the beginning I revealed the end. From long ago I told you things that had not yet happened, saying, "My plan will stand, and I'll do everything I intended to do."

Now, when you are assured of the Who, Where and What of our God then you will know … Who You Are?

You are the tree planted by the Living Water and you shall flourish. You are the Redeemed … the Healed … the Reconciled … the Restored … the Prosperous!

Psalm 1:3 - “He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.”

So, why do we wither and die? Why aren't we prospering? Why don't we love our lives n the now?

You have a thief in your house and guess who let him in … You! And you have the authority and the wherewithal to kick him out! The Enemy is Stealing Our Joy … and we are allowing it to happen! How?

For some of us, He has us so bound up in our past that we can't even begin to enjoy the moment. He reminds us of that mistake or this issue or what that person did to us or how we were abused or how we stole or that we committed murder through abortion … He tells us that we are being punished for that sin or this one. He tells us that we will never be free … He lies to us and steals from us when we should be loving our lives in the moment.

But the Word clearly tells us that we are not supposed to look back ...

Phil 3:13-15 “Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.”

One thing that often the enemy will do is steal the pleasure out of a moment that has passed … Let's say we went on our dream trip … we sacrificed to go and we had a FABULOUS time! Now, we have returned home from that trip and we realize that we may have spent a little too much money or that we missed a bill that we needed to pay before we left. The enemy then starts to tell us how foolish we were and was it worth it … now the wonderful memories that we should be cherishing are being marred. It is his method to mar the memory by having us focus on something other than the joy that we experienced in the going … the gift that God gave us in being able to go.

We are not supposed to look back people and really we are not supposed to look to far ahead either. We are to stay focused on loving our lives in the moment.

The other strategy the enemy uses is to get us so wrapped up in what tomorrow may bring that any joy whether small or big is stolen from us in the moment.

Yet the scriptures clearly instruct us to …

Mathew 6:25- 34 “That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don't worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today.”

The enemy desires to steal our joy by focusing our thoughts on tomorrow … a day that is yet to come and worrying over our yesterdays which we can never change. He deceives us into thinking about that which is outside of our control.

The Lord desires that we live our lives by faith not by what we see or feel or think or fear but in faith. Trusting that He is there in every second of every day and knowing that He is in our “Suddenlies.” He wants us to believe that He has good and perfect gifts for those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. He wants our lives to be rich in every way but we must choose to live richly in Him.

Don't look toward tomorrow and take no thought for your yesterdays … live your life loving every moment. Determine to live a life filled with joy and He will give you strength.
