Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling tells the story of Lord Shivji and his little devotee Shirikar

Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling is the story of Lord Shivji and his little devotee Shirikar.

Little Shirikar helped her mother with her daily house hold work. He had to take Grass from the fields and arranged it for the cows. He had to do other house hold works.

Once while he was coming from the fields , he saw that King Chandersen was worshipping Lord Shivji by making Shivling. Shirikar's previous birth values arose.

He took a stone assuming Shivling ,had begun to worship. His mother was alone. She worried about him. She tried her best to convince him that house hold work is urgent. But he was indulged in worshipping by making Shivling. His mother annoyed and threw the Shivling into the River.

Now Shirikar was very sad. He began to weep. By supernatural powers of Lord Shivji Shivling came back with Divine Light and fixed in front of Shirikar. Shirikar's mother astonished at this incident.

But she could not tolerate that Shirikar may indulge in worshipping. Because she had to do all the work alone. She compelled Shirikar to leave the worship. As his worship was disturbed, he had to remain in tension. Lord Shivji was pleased at the devotional feelings of his little devotee Shirikar.

Lord Shivji had to transform himself into the form of his little devotee Shirikar, to perform his duties.Now Lord Shivji performed all the responsibilities of Shirikar. His mother didn't know about this mystery. Now Shirikar was busy in penance and Lord Shivji did house hold work. His mother was happy and thought that now Shirikar had improved. Now he takes interest in house hold work.

On the other side Lord Shivji's empire was vacant. All the Angels worried about this situation.

The Angels had to face very tough situation. With the help of Naradji Lord Shivji returned back. But Lord Shivji was worried about his little devotee Shirikar. Lord Shivji called Hanumanji and discussed about his little devotee Shirikar. Hanumanji came for help of little devotee Shirikar.

Chandersen was the king of Ujjain where Shirikar was doing penance. Vaidpriai Brahman who lived in the kingdom of Chandersen was also the devotee of Lord Shivji. Now Hanumanji was appointed as defender of the three.

On the other side the king Ripudaman and Sinh Aaditaia invaded on the kingdom of king Chandersen. Chandersen's public loved Chandersen very much. Because he was a public caring person. He didn't bother about invasion. His public was also the devotee of Lord Shivji. They did penance for the protection of their kingdom. Hnumanji was already presented there and Lord Shivji also appeared for their protection.

King Ripudaman and Sinhaaditai defeated King Chandersen and had arrested him. They were pushing him in a very bad condition. Now Lord Hnumanji appeared and had beaten both the kings with their army ,with his Gadda. At first they could not know about the mystery. When they knew about the mystery that Lord Hanumanji and Lord Shivji was defending their devotee.

They were compelled by Lord Hanumanji and Lord Shivji for releasing king Chandersen. They realized them that no one do harm their devotees.

They returned Chandersen's kingdom and asked for forgiveness. King Chandersen forgave them and they became friends.

Dushan was a dangerous Damon. He was the enemy of Lord Shivji's devotees. He did penance of Lord Brahma ji and got a boon that nobody would kill him. Where he saw the devotee of Shivji he killed him.

Little Devotee Shirikar was doing a penance of Lord Shivji. Damon Dushan appeared there and disturbed the Little Devotee. He was trying to break the Shivling. To defend his little devotee Shirikar Lord Shivji appeared there. He attacked on Shivji. Fire arose and Dushan burnt into ashes. Lord Shivji sticked the ashes over his body.

Lord Shivji picked his little devotee Shirikar and embraced him and said, "You will be the sustainer father of Lord Viahnu's incarnation in his eighth birth. Shirikar became Nand Rai and the sustainer father of Lord Krishna the incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

This is the place where Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling is situated on the bank of Kshipraa River in Ujjain.

These ashes is called Bhasam. Bhasam is the main feature of Mahakaleshwar Jyotirling.little devotee Shirikar and other devotees requested Lord Shivji to be seated here. Because many attacks of Damons and cruel kings are happened. For protection be seated here. Lord Shivji accepted their request and had seated here.

Ujjayini is called the Nagari of Mahakaal. This Nagari is protected by Lord Shivji. This Jyotirling sanctum has three parts.

(1) Very beginning is South facing Shivling and witth thehe idols of Goddess Paarvati, Kartikay and Ganeshji. Here's Nandi deep is burning.

(2) Second part is Omkareshwar

(3) Third part is Nag Chandreshwar. This part is opened only on Nagpanchami occasion.

These Jyotirlings are not only the piece of stones. All positivity is inside and all around is felt. Lord Shivji has the capabilities of hearing and solving the problems in spite of residing for or near. The story of little devotee Shirikar reminds the greatness of Lord Shivji. Lord Shivji performed all the responsibilities through hearing the voice of mind. Lord Shivji resides in and all around us in the form of positive energies.
