Man Number One
Then the Lord God took man and put him in the Garden of Eden to tend and keep it.~Genesis 2:15~
Adam, meaning "mankind" was the first human created by God. He was perfect, innocent, and from him we learned we could have led a sinless life. Adam held the future of mankind in his hand.
Adam was the first man to experience God's perfection. He provides a glimpse of the lifestyle that God intended for us. Though Adam chose a path not favorable to mankind, God did not leave us without hope. Adam had it all. He was created in the father's image, he was given dominion over the land and he was given a helper-Eve.
Despite God's goodness to Adam, he still became susceptible to temptation. When Adam ate of the fruit, mankind fell into sin. Some of the consequences associated with sin, include: shame, spiritual death, strife in the marriage, strife in our relationship with God, blaming others, suffering, toil, pain, and physical death. Today, God still speaks clearly to us, but we must chose to listen. Not listening to God brings about the ultimate destruction.
May God add a blessing to all whom read his word.
