My Legacy/What will People Say?

Updated on February 11, 2011

What Will People Say

My Legacy:I wrote this poem one day when I was thinking about life and death. I was thinking about my family and friends that I love dearly, who are no longer here to share my life with me. I started to remember the words I spoke when a good friend of mine Barbara Hooker passed away. I could find nothing negative to say about her, I didn't have to search deep to find something loving to say about her. She was a wonderful, faithful Christian, that was careful how she treated others. She always had a smile on her face, even to the end when Breast Cancer had ravished her body. She remained gentle, soft spoken, loving and kind. I want to be like her when I grow up.LOL:) (smile). So, I wrote a poem about how I wished to be remembered, thanks for allowing me to share. HONORABLEWOMAN

What Will People Say?

I hope that someone has something good

to say about me

when it is my time to leave here

I pray that someone remember

My smile

Or a kind word when they were down

I hope my children remember

How much I loved them

and that they meant everything to me

That I considered them A Gift

Not a burden

And that I was my happiest

When they and their families were happy

That I prayed for my entire family

Now that includes my FB family

And my Hub Pages Family

I hope that when I leave here

Someone says" She did the best she could, with what she had"

And always strive to do better and be better

However, Most Of all

I hope that someone remembers that

Christ is the head of my life

And that I love him

Because he first loved me

For all his Mercies towards me.

Thanks Daphne Marie McDonald

I Agree. I use to try to force my Love for God on others when I was a young Christian. Now, I let my light shine and when they ask me why I seem to Glow through the Good and Bad times, I let them know it is only through God's love that I live a Victorious Life. Thanks for reading.

It's amazing how life can turn upside-down and the skies must be another color for many. I will plod with a benevolent God.

Thank You, Hyphenbird, I appreciate the kind words. I agree with you that the most important legacy to leave behind is our Relationship with Christ and how that made an impact on our life and the lives of others. Be Blessed and I will check out your hubs.
