No Pain No Gain - Life

Updated on May 24, 2015

What A Pain It Can Be!

Hello everyone! I going to write about pain maybe some physical but mostly mental pain and torment. The type of pain that makes you move and you have to do something about it, to stop it. We all experience some form of mental pain, pressure and taunting from satan and his crew when God is raising us up. It is an endurance test to make us stronger and more resistant to sin. It teaches us to hold on no matter what, to God and his ways.

Of course I don't like this pain, and I would like to never experience it again. At the same time I know I need to have this type of pain to push me closer to God. This type of mental pain/pressure because it keeps me alert and aware of what is taking place spiritually around me. We must experience some discomfort if there's something not right, or when we are going through a season of attack so we won't be blinded by it. God's word says that we are wrestling with principalities, demons and the such from satan's kingdom. So wrestling is a close fight and we should take it seriously.

Not all pain and pressures from the enemy is God's will actually God can turn it to good. We do have something to do with it. We can have the pain because of sinning against God or pain from growing in God and doing what is right.God does not cause us pain or harm us. God has told us to seek His face, draw close to Him, abide in His word, obey His voice, Pray, bind, loose, fast, praise and then stand in faith. So if we are not balanced satan can creep in too. When we get lazy we are very likely to be attacked because we stopped being obedient to God and there is safety in obedience. We can't stay in a lazy state long or things will start to get crazy and here comes the attack. Than we go fast to God and repent.

God is faithful and reliable. If we confess our sins, he forgives them and cleanses us from everything we've done wrong. 1 John 1:9

So if you are already in another season of attack/temptation to sin or quit, pressure, mental and physical pain. We can not add laziness, drawing back, loosing the reigns or fear to this or we will be weakened for sure! It's already a challenge and added to this pain that we don't like we will also have to deal with the pain that satan stirs up to be manifested through the ones we love. Of course it is satan's attempt to divide and conquer us. It gets real frustrating when we already feel as though you're being attacked from the enemy and then here comes a mess of stuff all seeming to try to get us to quit. Or better yet to cause so much pressure with many mental attacks to try to cause us to sin. So we can have a lot more pain IF satan gains ground & or more legal rights through our own free will choosing to sin. By opening that door to satan willingly we would be saying "welcome come on in and lie, steal, kill and destroy us. We become a slave to sin and satan's will now "! For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work. James 3:16

The good thing is that personally this last round of attacks didn't bother me as much as some other times. But I'm still not liking all this pain stuff yet! The stronger we get in God, the stronger we are in resisting satan. Like submit yourselves to God and resist the devil and he will flee. Whoever you are submitted to will have their way in your life. So do we want satan's way or God's?

God's way is the answer.

This is the pain that will produce life, wisdom & growth. And their's always the pain when we were deceived and received a lie. That sin, that lie when birthed out results in death, eternal separation from God because we refused to learn and walk the path of truth & life. We can not avoid pain. Pain is part of the learning process of life and not all pain is bad. Will you let pain teach you something?

Pain that will produce life, wisdom and growth in me is my answer because I will gain a lot this way. The other way I will lose a lot and gain a type of pain that God never intended for me to be burdened by.

  • It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 1 Pet 3:17
  • May I never boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. Gal 6:14

God Favored Me

Pain and it's Friends

Blows and wounds cleanse away evil, and beatings purge the inmost being. Pro 20:30

Although he was a son, he learned obedience from what he suffered Heb 5:8

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast [some] of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. Rev 2:10

Torment

  2. A source of harassment, annoyance, or pain.
  3. The torture inflicted on prisoners under interrogation.
  4. To cause to undergo great physical pain or mental anguish. See synonyms at afflict. To agitate or upset greatly.
  5. To annoy, pester, or harass.

Like as a woman with child, that draweth near the time of her delivery , is in pain , and crieth out in her pangs; so have we been in thy sight, O LORD. Is 26:17

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment . He that feareth is not made perfect in love. 1 John 4:18

Agony

  1. The suffering of intense physical or mental pain.
  2. The struggle that precedes death.
  3. A sudden or intense emotion: an agony of doubt.
  4. A violent, intense struggle.

And (Jesus) being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground. Luke 22:44

But even if you suffer for doing what God approves, you are blessed. Don't be afraid of those who want to harm you. Don't get upset 1 Pet 3:14

If you suffer, it should not be as a murderer or thief or any other kind of criminal, or even as a meddler. 1 Pet 4:15

Anguish

noun:great suffering, as from worry, grief, or pain; agony

For it is commendable if a man bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because he is conscious of God. 1 Pet 2:19

But those who suffer he delivers in their suffering; he speaks to them in their affliction. Job 36:15

But the God of all grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen, settle you. 1 Pet 5:10

God Saw The Best In Me

Jesus Training For Athletes

We gain strength going through difficult & painful situations. Even Jesus went through emotional/ mental anguish and pressure before He gave His whole self as a sacrifice for our sins. Once He passed/completed the most difficult in dying on the cross God raised Him from the dead. Do you even realize the real physical pain he went through? He was beat beyond recognition, plus all the worlds sin-he took on his body. Sin causes PAIN!

Now because of Jesus resurrection, we too have a new life, power, strength and authority in Jesus. The dying to yourself, sin, your own plans, your unfruitful feelings, and by going through the test, trials, persecution, and pain is what it means to take up your cross like Jesus. Jesus was bold, confident, obedient, faithful in the midst of all problems. We get stronger in God the more we become obedient and stand against all odds & obstacles in faith refusing to give up or turn back. Just like a true soldier or athlete goes through endurance training, muscle building , we too must be resisting in order to be strong in the Lord.

To get that attitude, and mind set of strength like a lion, like Jesus and be fierce in the spirit refusing and repelling all evil. We are lights in the darkness! That means we are walking through darkness, evil, torments, hellish areas to complete are call of duty to God. You must know by now that also means this evil is trying to attack us from all sides. Just like the sins and evil of this world attacked Jesus and that's exactly what killed Him our sins! We do not die for our sins now but become dead to them and their temptations. Like to an enemy you would say :"You are dead to me" , " I will no longer let you take the advantage on me", " I am stronger now and you won't knock me down".

Jesus even ask God to take this torment and pain from Him and above all that He wanted to Do the will of God. And the will of God is for us to overcome and defeat the pain and torment not avoid it.

'Jesus' Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." Matt 26:39

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared (reverenced, obeyed);Heb 5;7

For he has not despised or disdained the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help. Ps 22:24

*Remember Jesus fasted for 40 days & nights for His great hour of temptation that He was entering into and satan tempted Him during this time.Jesus stayed obedient to God's will and resisted through this fast and by the word of God coming out of His mouth against the lies of satan. Fasting makes you stronger (Is 58).

Athletes train for endurance to win the race or competition. There bodies go through so much physical pain and pressure during the training. So they will become stronger for the real race . The mental pressure has to be endured also. In training pain is always present to teach and cause growth. Even when gaining muscle mass you must rip the muscle 1st then it heals up again with the later state stronger- this process is done over and over. If they do not go through this process they can never win the prize they are aiming for. Pain comes before victory and an increase in strength.

A well trained and seasoned athlete will not stop when non-debilitating pain arrives in their quest for the prize. They have put to much time and effort into this competition just to quit now. They already learned that there is pain in store for them but, oh how it is worth it when they press through and win!
Look at how challenging it is to force yourself to study or to complete college. It is also an experience of mental pain and physical pressure, but look at the prize at the end! We have to understand that when we are following Jesus we will have to go through some pain at different degrees. We are going to be challenged and resisted. We will learn more about pain than you ever thought you could learn because it will teach you.
We must keep in sight the reward and prize at the end of this race and yes it will be the fight of your life. The great thing about God is that we are not competing to win something in the status of this world but heavenly, eternal. What we gain from God during our training and actual race time the world can never take it away from us.

Just like having a baby and carrying it inside is painful and you think you can't take anymore pain mostly physical- but also mental but look at the prize!

A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come : but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. John 16:21

In training to be a boxer, the trainee learns from taking blows to the face and stomach how to be skilled, balanced, alert, and prepared for the real fight. The more they get knocked down the more determined they become to stand, fight and win! They end up IF they don't give up confident, secure, single focused and able to resist & defeat any opposer. Pain is the process of learning and becoming stronger. We have to believe in ourselves while we are trusting and relying on God. We have to believe we are and can do what God said we can in Jesus. Even if we get knocked down God will turn it into our good by using it as our training. Satan doesn't quite get it when he attacks us and we come back with even more strength and we strategically defeat him. To defeat your enemy you must know him 1st. You must know in what ways he will and can attack and than stand in the power of God and with His word in your mind, mouth, heart and soul. You must receive the power of God and feel it blazing within you. This very spirit of God that raised Jesus from the dead is what we have and possess.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. 1 Cor 9:24

This is a war cry

When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going

"When the situation becomes difficult, the strong will work harder to meet the challenge."

For this is thank worthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.1 Pet 2:19-24

And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets:
Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.
Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens.
Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection:Heb 11:32-35

Thou therefore endure hardness , as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 2 Tim 2:3

But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions , do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 2 Tim 4:5

For the righteous falleth seven times, and riseth up again; but the wicked stumble into disaster. (Darby) Prov 24:16
The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked. (NLT) Prov 24:16

So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:1 Thess 1:4-5

Their is a lot of pain in this world and we can let it teach us or kill us. We are going to have mental pain, pressure that is why in Phil 3:14 says I PRESS toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

This is why we have been told who & what we wrestle against-evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places (Eph 6:12). so we will not quit, or be confused on where are fight and pain comes from. The salvation we have been given isn't in vain and it isn't so we can remain in pain, or even to make us go insane.- But so we will draw closer to God and be equipped with His strength and overcome.

Without any obstacles what would we need to be over-comers and conquerors for?The battle is on and only those who are strong in the Lord will remain standing.
Is your body prepared for Jesus, you must realize pain is what Jesus went for, for us. We will go through mental and physical pain. We do this for the people that will be saved by the gospel of Jesus that we proclaim and it is worth any trouble we may have to go through. If we die(suffer) with Christ we will be raised with Him in all the strength we need to run this race with determination, without flinching when we have to go through pain, test and trials! If you are not willing to PUSH THROUGH the pain and discomfort you will not gain anything other than defeat by choice!

  • For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
And our hope of you is steadfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.
For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:
But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead: 2 Cor 1:5-9

  • For this reason, when Christ came into the world, he said, " 'You did not want sacrifices and offerings, but you prepared a body for me. Heb 10:5
  • I've told you this so that my peace will be with you. In the world you'll have trouble. But cheer up! I have overcome the world." John 16:33
  • I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Tim 4:7
