Non-Religious Bible Lesson 2: What good is money?

Updated on June 23, 2012

What these lessons are about

You don't have to be religious to benefit from the writings in the bible. A lot of the passage carry messages that can apply to anybody from any religion.

The Passage

Proverbs 3:13-14

13 Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.

14 For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.

The Lesson

Yet another simple proverb the meaning of which is most clearly outlined.

Quite simply, the lesson is this: Wisdom is more valuable than money.

Alright, so money is a good thing to have - but it's more important to develop a good understanding of how the world works, learn new things and engage in rich experiences.

If all we had in life was money, we wouldn't be happy people.
