On "The Secret"

Updated on January 29, 2012

I had to write this piece. If for no other reason, I had to write this at least as a sign of gratitude to the Universe and to “The Secret”, which has indeed changed my life in a quite unimaginable way. Of course, there are more things to be thankful for but right now I would like to focus on “The Secret”. I will be brief.

Many people have heard of this little book. Many others have seen the film. I have not. I like reading and I find often times that the book is much better than its counterpart, the film. For those who have not heard about “The Secret”, I must say that it is worth investigating.

Whether You have heard about “The Secret” or not, I have a few things to say about it and to begin with, I have to clearly state that: it works. It is a simple way of bettering one’s life in this three dimensional perspective. It costs nothing but your attention and your focus.

You have to believe in yourself and in the magical powers of the Universe for “The Secret” to work though ... denial means failure from the start.

“The Secret” mainly talks about the law of attraction. You attract things during your life-time: all sorts of friends, acquaintances, jobs, cloths, cars, etc. All the things that are in your life, You have attracted them to You. Your dog, cat, fish ... whatever You have or You interact with, You attracted to You. This is quite important to understand.

Thus, one can attract many things ... or anything(s). This is where the part about intent and visualization comes-in. And this is also rather important.

We must be careful of our intent and of what we visualize during our life-time. If we intend on doing good things and honestly visualize good thing then, we attract good things in our life. The optimist is an optimist because he/she visualizes his/her life as such and the pessimist is a pessimist because he/she visualizes his/her life in that manner as well. One will have more positive experiences due to his/her way of visualizing things and the other will have more negative experiences because he/she sees life from that perspective too.

In my case (as a quick example - I have many ...), within the past year I knew I had to meet some people. I will not go into detail about how I knew that I had to meet certain people but I was quite open in expressing my intention to meet the people I had to meet. For the entire last year, I ran around saying that there were some people that I was looking for. Well, I met them and some will come to comment on this piece of writing too. They know who they are.

“The Secret” is as real as it can be: You can attract whatever You wish in your life. The trick though, is to be honest in your intention and visualization of what You want to attract and to be persistent. It’s quite simple in my mind. I wish it works for You too!

May Wakan Tanka guide your path.

Thank You for the visit Quirinus! Belief in oneself is the most important, in my opinion. Listen to yourself and than, others. : )

      Cheers and thanks for commenting!

P.S. Say hello to Happy for me too, please. : )

I don't believe I have read the book, but I am familiar with the visualizing what you want and it is yours. I really need to start doing that more often, seems to be a lot of negative energy right now. Great Hub and for reminding me of my positive energy.

Thanks for the hub, Mr. Happy! (Incidentally, I have a pooch of the same name, mentioned on my landing page.) Chancing upon your hub is a very affirming experience for me, since I've never had a single friend tell me they share the same experience of attracting their visualization to make them actual reality.

Well, I visualized India for a while Mrs. Lynda and even though I could not get on my plane yesterday morning, I still visualize myself in India.

Visualizing takes time and practice. In my opinion, there was a time in our childhood when our parents told us that believing in dragons was no longer admissible. I am not sure why but it happens to most of us I think.

Well, I always believed in dragons for example ...

I don't think it makes me a bad person or hinders my life in any way ... so, I keep believing and dreaming ...

I guess I can't help it either: "it's how I'm made" (lol). To a certain extent, that is what makes us individuals and it's great (again, just an opinion).

      Thank You for passing-by. Cheers!

I shall fail, Mr. Happy, being a disbeliever that visualizing will get. I do not see the world as a cosmic cash machine where wishing comes real. I guess I'm too down to earth to believe. Instead, I shall go about my life doing my best at what feels right for me without thought of reward. If I want or need something, I shall make plans to get it of a concrete nature, not trying to attract it. Can't help myself; it's how I'm made. Lynda

      Greetings Mrs. Storyteller,

there is an automatic smile which comes on whenever I see your words. Thank You for visiting and sharing the great little story - I am quite happy that things turned-out well for You and your little furry buddy.

All the very best! : )

And at this point I must say that I will not be able to comment on any of my posts or any other articles for a while, as I am flying-off to India tonight.

"The Secret"/Law of Attraction works - believe me, I have zero reasons to deceive.

All the best to everyone and thank You all for stopping by again.

      Mrs. Supershopperlady,

one way to go past the perception of lacking cheques would be to forget about checks all together. Think about why You need the cheques ...

If You want a new car just think about having that car for example. Think how great it would be to drive in it, what colour it would be, where You would park it, etc.

That way, You do not have to care much about where the money came from ...

I suppose what I am trying to say is that one can think of having financial security or prosperity, instead of thinking of cheques in the mail - same thing really ...

We have to be creative in life and believe in our own thoughts.

      Thank You for commenting. Cheers!

Thank You for dropping-by, I always apreciate your words. : )

Also great to see You here too, Mrs. Reikieffect. I do think the power of intent is very important and I am of the opinion that not enough people pay attention to it. One other reason I chose to write about it too.

      Have a great day!

Mr. Junko ... You know a lot more than You usually show. : ) I sincerely thank You for You being who You are. May Wakan Tanka guide your path, always.

Mr. Dale, I agree with You that we can focus on Karma as well. I persoanlly tie-in "The Secret" more with magic than with Karma ... that is just a personal perspective though.

All is good - All is One. Cheers!

Hey Mr Happy! I am sitting in a charming, rustic, intimate cafe on the west side of Denver. I am here because I had to get Baxter Thor neutered and there was an affordable clinic in this neighborhood. When I imagined an affordable clinic, I thought assembly line and cold and I felt sad my pup would be in such an environment for the day.

I arrived to discover a warm and welcoming atmosphere with healthy organic dog food right next to my favorite book store!!! Why I did not put it together I do not know. But the laws of attraction drew me here at a time I needed renewal. I spent all last week in the sterile hospital with my mother in law.

So I thoroughly believe in this theory, not secret but available to all and shared by many. Thanks for the reminder.

      Serendipity... isn't!!!

I never read the book, but listened to it on my way to and from work. I keep looking for the mail with the checks (instead of bills.) Thanks for the post.

Blessings Mr. Happy! Another great hub about the power of intention. We do it all the time on an unconscious level; the secret just shows you to direct that energy in a conscious manner with a defined purpose. Thanks for sharing this info!

A great and informative hub! I firmly am a believer of your "secret" which has worked well for me. I prefer to call it "karma" which work in both directions, good for good and bad for bad. It is based on the law of attraction as well. Visualization and thoughts are very powerful. They both create goes out and energy creates change.

I read the book and found it very simple but profound at the same time. The secret can help one visualize good things in life and help to not follow family patterns and other negative things in life. Thanks for the great information. I hit many buttons

Great to see You pass-by and leave a comment Mr. Junko. I always apreciate your words.

I am not sure how successful or not I am but things have been happening the way I have been forseeing them for quite a while now.

I have been dreaming planes, day-dreaming planes and I keep climbing on planes. Haha ... it's not a secret, one can see the photos from my posts.

And tomorrow night I'm flying-off to India. Like I said in a previous piece of writing: "Life is beautiful if we allow it to be."

Many thanks, may Wakan Tanka walk with you Amigo.
