Online Bible Verses: Romans 8:1-2 Set You Free
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”
Romans 8:1-2
As time passes, it becomes evident to me that God, if He did indeed inspire writing of scripture, has made it a point to be exceedingly redundant.
The “if” qualifier has become my habit. Reason being, I understand that prospective readers will be at very different places on the faith spectrum. Potentially, anywhere from none to that which borders on knowledge. That said, accepting scripture as God’s indirect penmanship is a big step. And, as usual, I recall considering the same at one point and having a hard time with it, which is no longer the case.
Moving on to the topic of redundancy. I know, as a parent, that redundancy is often necessary when training up children. Mine have participated, albeit lacking 100% attentiveness at times, in Bible study every morning of their lives since the age of 2 or so. I see the basic tenants of scripture taking hold, but it took a long time. We are also in the habit of giving thanks before meals. About ½ the time, they need reminding to thank God prior to stuffing their faces. I had to drag my kid out of bed this AM to have him relocate the bicycle ramp he does jumps on. He left it out last night, right in the middle of the street. Tonight I will remind him to make sure it is not there, like I have been for the last month. Sooner or later, he will automatically check before he goes to bed.
The point here is, and it also applies to myself and other adults, that we need constant reminding to remain conscious of what exactly the Bible is there to convey. Today’s verse set drives it home again. If I listed here all the verses communicating our need for a Savior, there would be 100’s if not north of 1000.
God made it a point to drive home where we are at, what we need, and who can and has provided it for us.
