Part 4 – Do Not Be Deceived – Sons of God/Daughters of Men

This study will look at and see the truth about this scripture concerning the sons of God that married the daughters of men in Genesis 6. We covered Noah before this in Part 3, but He actually comes after this. This will help us to understand the meaning of those scriptures .

There is much foolishness taught about this scripture, who it is referring to, who these folks are etc. We will study and see what the true understanding of it is.

Gen 6:1-4 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,2 that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose. 3 And the Lord said, "My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years." 4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

If you just read what this says in your bible as shown here from nkjv it is not clear what the meaning of verse 4 is. But if you go to the Interlinear bible and see what the word translated as giants actually means, (important men among men, self important “big” men, in the eyes of men) and discard the words that are not in scripture but were added by the translators to make their bible match their beliefs.

You find that it really is saying the women the sons of God took as wife were daughters of self important big shots , bullies among men, not men of giant physical size.. In other words they were ungodly women. Then there can not be a mistake in what it says unless you are wanting to make something from it that is just not there. And that is precisely why this is there in many bibles, to support the false doctrine of the translators. And there are many “churches” today that teach a false doctrine of giant, seven foot tall men and other stories because of that false interpretation. That is one of the problems that promote false doctrines, false interpretation to support the beliefs of the interpreter. The desire to have a new revelation that no one else has, self promotion. This study will show that the character of the men that make false doctrines and those that promote them is of the flesh and not in the Spirit. Of course all of the problems in what professes to be the “church” are the result of these deceitful self seeking men that scripture warns us to beware of. Instead of adapting to the ways and will of God they make provision for their flesh by adapting the word of God to meet their desires.

Col 2:4-10 Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words. 5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ. 6 As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, 7 rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. 8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; 10 and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

Ok, Are you still with me, no, I am not off on a different track,stay with me and it will all tie together after we understand what we must to correctly see what goes on.

“Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,” Is it not clear to you from this that the daughters of men are simply the daughters of carnal, fleshly men?

“that the sons of God “ The sons of God can only be men that honor and follow God, remember that the whole of mankind were evil except for the one who was perfect in God's eyes and were destroyed in the flood. Noah was a son of God, he found favor with God BECAUSE he was perfect in all his ways before God. Or in other words as scripture puts it “Gen 6:9 Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God”. “Gen 6:22 Thus Noah did; according to all that God commanded him, so he did.”

Noah did all God required of him, which is the same requirement that Jesus uses to make us sons of God today.

Matt 28:18-20 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

And then we find “the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose”. We know that God's people are not to marry outside of the family of God. We also know from scripture that if you do they will bring you down, you will not bring them in.

So what we see here is the sons of God ignored Gods ways to have the beautiful women that were desirable to them. This is the beginning of the end for man at this time. This is here to show us what happens when we walk in the flesh instead of the Spirit of God. This is a picture of the current situation on the earth. And this IS THE REASON that God destroyed all but Noah in the flood.

Gen 6:5-7 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. 6 And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. 7 So the Lord said, "I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them."

The reason that Jesus says “as it was in the days of Noah” is because the end of this age is just exactly the same, this is a picture as an example for us to see, for the same reasons that God destroyed all but Noah the first time He cleansed the earth is the reason He will again destroy ALL the unrighteous (those that do not do ALL Jesus requires of them) and purify the earth for the final time before replacing it with a new undefiled heaven and earth that He and His sons will inhabit for eternity.

The only differences are these;

He covenanted that He would never again cleanse the earth by a flood of Water. And He will not, this last time He will destroy the unrighteous in the Lake of Fire. Notice that neither in the time of Noah or in this final time of cleansing did He destroy the earth but both times the righteous inherited the cleansed earth. Yet there are apostate men that teach in spite of what scripture states, that the earth will be destroyed by fire. Scripture does not say that, scripture says the earth will be cleansed by fire, by casting all that is not of God into the lake of fire of to its destruction. The earth remains to fulfill scripture that the righteous will inherit the earth.

This time there will be NO second chance, either Jesus has written your name in the His Book of Life assuring you of entry into the eternal kingdom of God or you will be destroyed in the lake of Fire.

Then after the judgment the this heaven and earth disappear (are replaced) and are replaced by a new undefiled heaven and earth, one that is worthy of the presence of God, where he will move with His throne from heaven to inhabit with His sons for eternity.
