Part two of We are Body Soul and Spirit

Updated on April 16, 2015

We Are, Body Soul and Spirit: Continued from Part One

Part 2

Each of us daily lives within the confines or freedoms we avail ourselves in the here and now. We breathe, we think, our heart pumps, our minds figure and refigure and contemplate, surmise, imagine, perceive, construe. Our flesh being, feels, hurts, connects with our senses, tasting, smelling, seeing, hearing, or have super adapted if we are blind or deaf. We find and discover love, hate, fear, truth, lies, and ideals, and that we can think our own thoughts and dream our own dreams. For some the dreams come true, for others they are stolen or die or lay dormant in a heap of ash. Then there are many who are prisoners of the dominant thoughts and conditions set by others. Unfortunately some have taken this to extremes such as Jim Jones and other manipulators of truth.

Many have the profound ability to venture into the far reaches of their imaginations, conjuring, with great depth and precision the many songs, animation, movies, futuristic sights, sounds, and revelations that amaze us with never ending consistency.

There are those in the technical world around us; that is growing by gynormous leaps and bounds; who are watchdogs of this technology that is trying not to be outdated moment by moment in a stream of fast moving supersonic thought, let alone day to day, or month, or year as it once was.

We think we know our little universe of life surrounding us; our neighborhood, our street, city, town, village, house, apartment, trailer, hut, tent, hobble, or even cardboard box.

We are only slightly familiar, when it really comes down to it.

It has been said, by many, and re-said and re-quoted, “We never really know anyone, do we?” As recently mentioned in the Bond movie, Quantum of Solace; just before a betrayal from a trusted colleague.

But the Psalmist says of God, in Psalm 139.1-14

O LORD, you have searched me
and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.

Before a word is on my tongue
you know it completely, O LORD.

You hem me in—behind and before;
you have laid your hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?

If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,

even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.

If I say, "Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,"

even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

We consider our religious experience and we think we know something about what we have inherited, passed down through the ages; especially in eastern countries where there are diversities of thought. In a number of select countries of that part of the world are hundreds of conceived ideas, ideals, lifestyle, gods, demy-gods, prophets, Buddha, and a list of other minor and major influences. All of them sharing a way of enlightenment and living within the boundaries of conjectured mysticism that never really allows you to arrive; with the exception of the chosen few. The core of all these religions derives from a works mentality.

You ask a Buddhist monk what he really knows and he will tell you only what he has been trained to speak about and will not venture outside the confines of his inherent teaching. There is nothing new, only a continuous rehash of the old. It is the same in each and every category of religious thought and so we all think we know, similar to what the Pharisee exhibited and believed.

Even within Christendom there are many who cannot or will not move from their stance on law, short sightedness, Pharaseeism, which in reality is being bound by a religious spirit. (2Cor 3.14)They remain engulfed in old experience, old truth, old conviction, old and stale, dusty, dried up wells, never really having any new revelation and encounter with the God of continual flowing rivers of life; flowing from the throne room for all eternity. Jesus daily gave fresh and living words and fed new life into his hearers constantly. When Jesus arrived on the scene he shook the foundation of Jewish standards. He did not replace but extended to us what God had already spoken. “You should not murder”, now becomes, “You should not even entertain the thoughts about murder.”

“You should not covet”, “You should not entertain these thoughts either.” You get the point. Was the New actions of soul, mind and spirit, and their relative place of balance and God influenced character something beyond the thinking of the time or was it in God’s heart all along, and mankind had just fumbled their way along in a fog of law and culture and missed the heart of God?

So what did Christ do?

Did he change God’s mind?

Did he rewrite the commandments?

Did he suddenly bring about a new way to please God?

Did all the written word beforehand become null and void?

No! He proved the words prophesied about himself (Lk 24. 25-32) from the writings of Moses through to the prophets; and he engages heaven with earth through the God man of himself and showed us the real heart of the Father that had been spoken of from the beginning. He becomes the greatest encourager for all mankind to believe not only in him and who he was, but to believe that we as the human race are far more capable of great achievements and have the capacity to love one another at a whole new and higher level than we deem possible. He proved it to us, and inspired a new generation of loving and believing followers who were filled up with God and passed it on to where we are today; howbeit we are still learning moment by moment in our daily encounter with him.

He brings a “Spirit to spirit” revelation that was lost before, but was spoken of as coming into being through the Prophets.

He brings revelation of Kingdom living and exposes the religious spirit that was controlling the hierarchy of the Jewish faith.

Had it been left up to them, there would never have come a way to God for the gentile nations. Jesus stated and restated… “I AM, the WAY, TRUTH, LIFE!”

Had God’s heart suddenly changed at year 1 AD? Or even at Jesus birth.

His heart was proven through the life Jesus exhibited… “When you see me and the things that I do, you see the Father.” (Emphasis mine)

He SO LOVED… WHAT? THE WORLD… THAT HE SENT JESUS, HIS ONLY SON!

The Muslims will tell you that they know of Allah (God) from what they have been told in the Koran and some other brief writings. They can only speak about a dead prophet and there is no new revelation to add to their thinking. Only the extremists will venture to interpret the words of others and make them fit their specific agenda. They cannot communicate in thought of a living God who continues to speak into people’s lives or a savior who has come to redeem the heart, soul and spirit of mankind.

Am I saying that there are no Christian extremist? No, I’m not because there were, have been and will continue to be until Christ returns. Their personal judgment is coming, as is ours.

Jesus left us a gift of himself and a gift from the Father of Holy Spirit to engage with our spirit so we have a New revelation of Kingdom life that begins within us through a heart, mind and spirit transformation and continued revelation for sanctification and redeeming who we are and causing us to become as sons and daughters by way of heart transference and not mind and thought overloading as some would rather have it.

Eastern mystics, African and other cultures as do our own native peoples; know that there is a spiritual dimension. The problem is that it becomes a self autonomy of religious indulgence to promote a personal way to fulfillment until someone else becomes the king of the mountain. Or it becomes a demonic charged abomination of all that is truth, righteousness, holiness and wholeness. Instead the majority of it is a perversity of lies and mind manipulation and control.

The greatest person next to Jesus that God introduces us to is Holy Spirit.

The mysteries of the east have nothing on God for the hidden treasures to be found in him, if we will exercise our faith and heart and will towards wanting the treasures of heaven rather than the fading shiny trinkets of the earth.

We are and have become like the Magpie, a bird that collects shiny objects catching its eye. These are all huge distractions from what the heart of God has always had in mind for us.

God has given each of us a unique opportunity to bring heaven and earth into a Spiritual meeting place. But 99.9% of our intellect is telling us to not trust, believe or take into serious consideration this dimension of Kingdom living. The very essence of the one who created us longs for our spirits interaction with him.

The Fox in the chicken coup!

Much of our spiritual journey gets robbed, stolen away by an enemy who once experienced life around the throne and in the exact presence of all the glory imaginable and conceivable to our minds. He does not want us to know, understand, have direct knowledge of or discover our real potential, because if we did we would be the Christ likenesses in phenomenal numbers upon the earth and the gates of hell that hold the captive hearts and minds of men would be broken open.

What does this lurid enemy know so extremely well about God and his Kingdom?

He knows that God has been trying to show the whole of mankind from the time of Adam, all that is in his heart for us. All that came to be seen in the life of Jesus and for the inheritance of the saints.

That there is life beyond our mere existing, breathing, and multiplying. That there exists a dimension of life in Christ, through the love of God in us, developed for us, an investment of heavenly proportion by way of His Holy Spirit, who indwells us. This enemy wants to keep us from the knowledge of a radical way to love God, Jesus and others. This radical way of life that a seemingly small few, have dared break into and uncover. This enemy hates everything and all who give right place in their hearts for growth, love, truth, revelation, experience and any spiritual insights about living to the full potential of what we are called out to become in Christ.

God has brought heaven down to meet with earth. It is surrounding us in a shroud of light and glory, darkness and water, birthing in the womb and breaking free into new life. It is a hidden treasure in a field, a pearl of great price. No wonder we need a renewed mind, a new heart and a new spirit. We cannot fathom the deep places, recesses, rich mysteries of all that is hidden in Christ.
