Prayer Journey #1: Dear God, Help Me To Be Consistent.

If we were to be honest, sometimes in our lives it seems our relationship with God is more ritual than personal and because of this we may lack consistency.When it becomes ritual the interest in knowing God is immensely limited. It is God's true desire for his children to long to know him and love to serve him that is why, Christ the incarnation of God, died for us. With this in mind, maybe the next time you read the bible, pray before you begin and ask God to help you apply it to your life leading to the scripture, Phillipians 3:10 : "That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death". It is when we start to become Christ-like and choose to follow a Christ-like lifestyle then it will be evident that our relationship with God is a personal one.

It is true our lives do consistent of many things family and work to name a few, and in our every day life, they can be pretty time consuming. However, if we are seeking a relationship with God we must put aside some time to hear his voice and the will he has planned for our lives. It is further demonstrated in the verse Matthew 6 32-33: "For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. (33) "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."This scripture indicates that God understands that we have other priorities in life but it reminds us that God should be our main and first priority.

Despite how much it may hurt God to see his children lose interest in him, he will never lose interest in his children . He even reassures this in Deuteronomy 31:6 in which he promises to .., "never leave you nor forsake you.” This is because it's in God's character to remain faithful.That is just simply the God we serve ,and as a reminder, here is a song that sings of God's love being constant and refusing to falter.

Dear God,

Help me to be consistent,

Help me to understand that in order to know the God I serve

I must dedicate time to know who you are

That means making you my priority

Regardless of how busy or hectic life is

I should spend time with the one who always remain faithful

Whether I am being consistent or inconsistent in practicing my faith

You will still be faithful towards me

As this is just who you are

And for this I give you thanks,
