Prophetic Signs or Merely Coincidence?

Are Seemingly Random Signs, Symbols or Dreams Ultimately Connected to Your Destiny?

For some time now I have been drawn to reading about other people’s “coincidences” where they see either a certain number, symbol, word, picture several times or they may have a series of things that initially appear to be random, but when linked together and depending on their life experiences and current set of circumstances have led them on quite a ‘Grand Adventure’ as my friend Bilbo would say!

I have had many of these myself and some quite bizarre ones through dreams particularly, which is not surprising as that is the area that I am passionate about!

Coincidence No. 1

I had my first ‘coincidence’ for the year on the 1st of January, which in itself I thought was an auspicious sign lol!

Initially I paid little attention to the name ‘Gambit’ that I was reading about in a novel sent to me via the internet from a friend. I had just started the book, and this particular character had not been developed whatsoever, other than I knew he was the President.

Coincidence No. 2

As I was reading this on my computer a message popped up from a group I am connected to on Facebook and I popped in to have a look – it was a video clip of this group of people and their experience at a festival earlier last year. I did note that the person who had posted this was called ‘Gambit’. As this is not a common name I double checked the book I was reading to make sure that it was the same name and simply passed it off as an interesting coincidence.

Coincidence No. 3

Later that day I received a message from an acquaintance that I had connected with because of a dream I had shared with him associated with our beautiful country New Zealand. I hadn’t heard from him for a couple of years as he is a busy author and speaker. He had just rediscovered my initial emails and felt prompted to respond again. Firstly he found it interesting that he had rediscovered these on the 1st of January 2012 and secondly he felt that this year might lead to a further progression on what had been revealed to me through the dreams and the vision that he too has for our nation.

Dream Puzzle Journey

Prior to having these dreams I had no interest or understanding of the matters that arose in them particularly the political aspect that appeared in them and I had very little understanding of the culture and language of our indigenous Maori people current and historical that populated them. The only thing I did have a grid for was the prophetic/spiritual aspect of them. So they have been at the back of mind now since 2008 – where I am prompted every now and then to dip my foot in the water and see if certain people are ‘the ones’ to play a role in helping me solve this Dream Puzzle Journey. I have since had more dreams and started down the track of learning whatever I can about these things and my antennae is now wired to pay attention to anything connected to them. I have also learnt much patience and to actually enjoy the journey as it unfolds before me, even if I am not completely sure where the next step leads.

Pulling the Puzzle of "Coincidence" Together!

After receiving this message from my author friend, I mentioned it to my husband saying that I thought it was a great sign and that finally maybe the dreams would finally see some application. Thinking along those lines, it then brought to mind the name ‘Gambit’ that I had seen twice earlier that day, and being the word smith that he is he proceeded to tell me that it wasn’t just a name but meant:

‘An opening move or any manoeuvre in which one seeks to secure or gain an advantage.’

This may not seem wondrous or like “A Grand Adventure” to you the reader, but it all makes perfect sense to me – within each connection of ‘Gambit’ are symbols that are pertinent to my personal journey and destiny and tie up with these dreams. I have been walking this out for over 3 years now and have recognised that these dreams are ‘Destiny Dreams’, which I find the most exciting of all!

These sorts of dreams always remind me of the early historical account of Joseph - albeit I prefer the ultimate outcome, rather than where he started! Joseph's dreams initially led him to being thrown into a pit and carted off as a slave to Egypt. Finding himself promoted to an overseer in Potiphar's house, to then being thrown in the dungeons after being falsely accused by Potiphar's wife. Then eventually receiving the opportunity to be able to interpret Pharaohs dreams by the counsel of God which caused him to be placed as 2nd only to Pharaoh and finally to make the appropriate practical applications to then help Egypt through a time of great famine and recession - so who knows where your dreams or signs along the way will lead you! Dreams led him from the pit to the palace!

So what about you? Have you had any “coincidences” that have initially appeared random, but as you have followed them through they have ultimately ended up changing aspects or even providing new direction in your life?

Instead of me just spouting my ideas with little or no response. I love watching people bounce or spark off others and then use the creative talents they have been given (and worked hard at) to inspire all those around them!

Bring on your 'coincidental' stories!
