Reign In This Life
The Transformation
1 Peter 2:9-10
But ye [are] a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light; Which in time past [were] not a people, but [are] now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.- King James Version
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.- New King James Version
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests,* a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light."Once you had no identity as a people; now you are God's people. Once you received no mercy; now you have received God's mercy."* - New Living Translation
9-10 But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you—from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted. - The Message
Facts are Facts, but Truth is Truth!
We Are Not What We Were...
Before we came to Christ we were at best a spiritual mess. We were the enemies of God. Our desire was not toward righteousness, we were in darkness. Within that darkness we were lost, undone, and destined for HELL. (Folk don't like to talk about Hell, but it is a part of our spirituality reality)...
Thank God that He send Jesus to not only redeem us and restore us to our pre-fallen condition, but to also give us authority and liberty in this life!!!
What we once were, we no longer are! Now, you may not be experiencing the newness of life, but, you are what the Bible says you are. Do you have to fight in order to realize it??? Yes! Not only do you have to fight, but you have to fight hard!
Who are we fighting? Is it Satan? Is it those we know? Is it ourselves and our old mindset? We are fighting all of these.
In order to walk in the manifested promises of God for our lives, we have to grab hold of the truth of His Word and hold on!. It is a bumpy ride. We have to walk in the truth about our shortcomings, our failures and our inconsistencies. When we do this, we open up for the Word of God to begin to deliver us.
It is then that we manifest in truth, who God has declared us to be. God is a God of faith, He has declared what we are by faith. We have to use our faith to grab what He has said and apply it to our lives. Thereby changing what our now is into God's now.
God Has Given Us His Authority
God has given us authority, power and jurisdiction as followers of Christ:
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater [works] than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. John 14:12
Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority
over all devils, and to cure diseases. Luke 9:1Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all of the power of the enemy. Luke 10:19
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore,..... Matt 18:18
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye
shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria,
and unto the uttermost part of the earth. For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and
self-discipline. 2-Timothy 1:7 New International Version
Are you reigning in this life?
Now TAKE YOUR AUTHORITY and REIGN!
If you are a Born-Again Believer, these verses are for you. They are not a promise to be attained, they are a fact of the right now. These scriptures tell us who we are, not what we are going to be.
It is our responsibility to carefully read the Word of God and distinguish between what we must strive to obtain and what we already have. For instance, when sickness comes at my body, emotions or mind, I have to obtain my healing to combat the attack. I have to speak to the sickness, speak to my body and remind both my mind and my body of what my promise is. Remind them that sickness has no authority over me because, By Jesus stripes, I was healed.
Although I am "the healed", I need to access my healing whenever I am attached with anything that is not healing. I have to combat that which is contrary to the Word of God. I have to take a stand on the Word and remind every contrary element that the price has already been paid; and, that it is impossible for the truth to be anything other than what the Word of God has declared.
On the other hand, I am a royal priest, I am part of a holy nation. When the devil reaches to attack me in this area there is nothing for me to obtain, nothing to access. All I need do is walk in who I am. I don't have to obtain it, I am it.
Another example, if I want to drive my car, I have to get the keys, go to the car, get in the car, start the car and drive away. The car is legally mine and I have all authority to drive it. But, if I am not already driving it, I have to do something in order to begin driving it. It is mine, it was bought and paid for, I can use it anytime I want to, but,I have to do something to drive it.
Conversely, I have two feet (thank God), I don't have to do anything to use my feet. They are a connected part of me and they are mine. Whose feet are those? Mine! I don't have to do anything to obtain them or use them. Justifiably I can say that I am my feet and my feet are me.
Be Encouraged, Always!
Take heart beloved brethren of the faith.... remember in the midst of the trial that you are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. You are the head and not the tail. You are above only and not beneath. You are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
You have authority over all of the power of the enemy and over everything related to the devil. When you are in the trenches, it may not be easy, but remember Satan is fighting us with everything that he has. The battle field is our mind....our victories are realized when God's Word is solid in our thinking, and our responses to Satan and his cohorts are responses of faith and trust in our Father's Word!
DON'T FORGET IT!
