What is the world's greatest religion?: There is only one Great Religion and it is not one.

Updated on June 19, 2013

The best rituals are simply nature moving through a day.

Places and rituals are cool, but do not make a proper religion.

I was please growing up to be in a multidenominational Christian Church. I was lucky growing up with intelligent Hopi and Navajo who taught me their way. I was priviledged to attend university and obtain a degree in philosophy. I was allowed to convert and become Episcopalian for my wedding and baptism of my children. My wife left her home country as a Buddhist and is now an American Anglican. In 1991 I climbed barefoot up the Mountain/Volcano of Popocatepetl near Cholula Mexico with Tibetan monks and local shaman. I have meditated in Shinto Shrines in Japan and Buddhist temples in Vietnam. And worshipped in St. Peters’ Basilica in Rome.

I have now been a pastor for a few wonderful years, after being a Cursillista and brother in the Order of Saint Lukes. I am also a Lay Eucharistic Minister II, and I teach catechism. I also have a degree in law and have studied many canons.

These things I tell you not to brag, but to show that love is a journey not a place or a ritual. Love is found all around in people and in their actions, not their devotions or even sacrifices. Good people who feel it, need to start expressing it a little more.

People making rules for other people, and themselves

This is a Marine. No Gun. He lays down his life for others in Love

This fine man has set himself as a medic after the medic was killed, This is what I speak of.

Sometimes who is writing may be important, although I am not.

All of that just to get to my point. I am certain beyond any doubt that God is Love. Therefore Love is God. I have it in my whole heart that Jesus is a pure representative of Love, whether he be fictional, a Prophet or God.

Holy books are not to be considered Holy due to the accuracy or even the words contained therein. They should only be known by us as divine by the love they teach.

We must accept that the creation of man is a miracle of some sort. We must admit that no act done in love has caused harm to those loved. We must recognize that the more love we give the more love there is. We can choose.

This is Love and it is born of the heavens and relieves pain and inspires greatness on earth. Love will last when you die, it will live in the hearts of the betrothed of love. My children and yours even though they are 30 and forty have the love in them that you gave decades ago. Love is Alpha and Omega.

My God resides in me. My God resides in all children. My God resides in you. My God even resides in churches and synagogues and temples. My God need not look for worshipers they are a part of Him in Love.

When when love is present God is present. All we need do is look for it. They are no wars in love's name. There is no caste system in love.

It is just so complicated -- NOT

When someone interrupts your business do you turn to chastise and berate Or do you turn in love, giving and receiving it in return.

Sometimes, it don't matter where you are going, only how you get there. Much Love my friends

You do not have to do a single thing except Love and you are a part of the Universal Church. There is only one true Liturgy and that is love given. You do not have to give it on behalf of or through your favorite charity. Just give it and you will receive.

We are not directed by love to act a certain way or do a certain thing. We are not called to be a something. Man just loves to heat things up and get all organized and accomplish things.

Let me end on a funny note. I caught myself counting and admiring myself for how many Sundays in a row that I had preached. Now that is just plain funny. No matter how hard I try my mind is still just plain silly sometimes.
