Rest My Confidence In God Alone
Rest My Confidence In God Alone
Where have you rested
the confidence of your life ?
Have you rested it upon "someone"?
Whom you have known as your "true love"?
Who says he will be there
To end your solitary days
To give you his only shelter
And his lifetime with you to share.
Truly human cravings are real
And emotional battles are intense
Burdensome and almost endless
To those whose hearts are still
Hopefully seeking to be owned.
And if you ever find one
To share with you his youthful days
Could you finally celebrate
For at last, your heart finds its rest
A steadfast truth should never be dispersed
Even gentleman's words are not flawless
Young men's hearts are prone to change.
Still one finds a beautiful career
As the zenith of his life
For it won him not only glory
But also a prestige and rich life
It costs him all his sweats and blood
And has been his shining star ever since
Yes, he has reasons to be jubilant
But not until the end of his time
For all his hardearned glories
Are bound to fade away with time
A career indeed, no matter how great
Is also destined to meet its end.
After considering all these things
My soul is finally resolved
To rest my confidence in God alone
More than anybody else,
More than anything else.
In this whole wide world.
