Online Bible Verses - Romans 8:28 Its All Good
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
In all things God works for good. Doesn’t always seem that way. Not in what we have seen take place around us nor what may be occurring right now in our lives. It can be difficult to see His purpose in situations/scenarios/events where we ourselves do not possess all of the needed information and data. In those cases, we can simply meditate and pray; share our feelings with God. Tell Him we are distressed. Ask Him to show us and clarify.
When these events involve us and our lives, we can sometimes realize His purpose further out in time. Two factors are in our favor here:
1. Being one of the main characters, we understand background/history/situation in great detail.
2. We have vivid memory years later, and can see how, long after the fact, God had a reason/purpose.
I can look back on events which, at the time, seemed nothing other than outright disasters. 20 years later, however, one of these events now looks to be one of the best things that ever happened to me. I see and understand why.
Two other quick points so make concerning today’s verse.
1. “those who love him”: He loved us first and loves us huge. Speaking for myself, I know I do not love him enough.
2. “who have been called according to his purpose”: He has a specific purpose for us all, knew our name and could count every hair on our heads 100000 years before we had heads. He will call, but will not force His hand. We will choose whether or not to respond.
