Room 310

Updated on February 16, 2012

This is an amazing story to share of how God works in mysterious ways. This took place in the 1980s. I went to visit my grandma and she said that my uncle Charlie was in the hospital. For some reason she didn't say why he was in there or maybe she didn't know all the reasons. I didn't know what the reason was, but I didn't think it was serious. My aunt Jean and Uncle Charlie used to take me camping when I was little. We went to their trailer out at the beach. I went quite often and remember always having a lot of fun out there.

A few years later, I was now a new christian and married . I felt that I should visit him to see how he was. My husband and I thought we would by a little gift and a get well card. We put a gospel tract in the card. We had a little box of various topic gospel tracts under our bed. We didn't know what it all said in each one of them but we did know that for sure the gospel was printed in the tract. We picked a tract that was called Room 310 and put in the card. We knew that Uncle Charlie wasn't saved. We were probably both a little shy to tell him about the gospel so the tract seemed like a good idea..

When we arrived at the hospital we went to the front desk and asked what room my uncle was in. The hospital staff answered room 310. At this point we didn't even notice that the tract title was the same as his room number. When we arrived in his room he was very happy to see us. We gave him his little gift and the card. He opened the card and found the gospel tract "room 310" He asked us if we had it specially made for him and we answered no. We shortly found out that he had colon cancer and it was in the last stages. He was dying.

As he read the tract he couldn't believe the similarities in the tract. A man named "Charlie" was dying of cancer and the man didn't believe in God. He asked us again if we had it made for him. We assured him that in a rush we just picked it out of our assorted tracts box. He was quite impressed. When we were leaving we mentioned that there was a Billy Graham Crusade on that night onTV and maybe he would like to watch it.

After he died, we went to visit my aunt, she said that he accepted Christ into his heart. Later she attended church with us a few times. I will always remember this story and think of it as a miracle story.
