SEEDS OF SIN: are we cultivating it?

Updated on May 13, 2012

There are so many factors behind this which makes it sprout. No one knows when the flower of” spiritual enlightment” will bloom? Different factors or circumstances in the life of a person can lead him -discover his true eternal self-waking up to who we really are. He can also be a free spiritual wanderer who sets off penniless and homeless on a quest.

The act of renunciation is the beginning of spiritual adventure. It can be a self made decision or circumstances can be responsible for him for making that decision. If we receive with strong faith and pure heart it can be more fruitful. If we have real faith we experience God’s presence in every situation. Thus it’s a practice with complete dedication and single-pointed focus, by learning to look within-understanding the identity that we have built for ourselves and deconstructing it brick by brick

We all have the spark and potential for spiritual awakening .But there are many barriers surrounding it-seeds of sin-evil thoughts. All evil happens by deception-thinking, walking, acting or feeling in opposition to God’s way and believing “It’s okay to do so”.

Seeds of envy, seeds of anger, seeds of pride, seeds of confusion, seeds of lust, seeds of, fear etc etc we need destruction.

Step1 Persuasion [A sight, a sound, a smell, a voice etc.]

Step2 An evil thought.

Step 3 We mix-up our thoughts with evil thoughts. Thus started enjoying it, though we know that we shouldn’t .Thus prohibited happiness is used to enjoy the mind.

Step 4 “It’s O.K to do it” attitude develops

Step 5 By doing the sin in reality, emotional agony

Step 6 Multiplication of sin

An evil thought =seed of a sin

Destruction of various sins:

Seeds of envy

The problem behind envy is low self esteem.

You are unique and different and there is nobody in this world like you in this world, so why compare yourself to somebody else?

Be yourself. Be encouraged, making positive changes in life.

Find your hidden talents and with that you can help others.

Envy is not having desires, dreams or ambition; you can have desires- - without being envious to others.

Envy is based on a myth “I must have more than you to be happy”.

The problem is that, once you get to that level, there is a next level.

It will make you miserable, destroys relationships.

I aspire to be as good as some of my favorite authors. But I do not want to be given credit for writing their books. Nor do I long for people to say I am better than they are. I certainly don’t want to copy their style. And I don’t desire that they fail. I just want to be able to touch people with that same depth and impact as they do. I admire, but I do not envy.

So wait for the next selfish thought and convert it into a selfless one.
