Sailing On Our River Of Memories
Don't you love taking walks down memory lane? I do and I think everyone would agree that our memories are such a great part of our lives. And for those who know Jesus their testimony testimony in Christ. We've collected a lifetime of treasures in our heart of hearts. The storehouse of our memories is like a bank where memories have been deposited. And I discovered that God has promised his blessing of care over our storehouses.
Deuteronomy 28:8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon you in your storehouses, and in all that you set your hand to, and He shall bless you in that you set your hand to.....
My memories are filled with songs and stories. I've always loved learning lessons from song, sweet celebrations of where we have been and people and places we've loved. You hear lots about memories in the world’s culture. Here are a few that I like. “Thanks For The Memories”, “Unforgettable”, “Memories”, just to name a few. And the wonderful old gospel hymn “Precious Memories”
To all men memories are a large part of who we are in the right now. Many of them have been written on our minds and hearts. Like a well of good and even golden treasures that we keep drawing lessons and delight from. And in the Lord so many of our memories are testimonies of different ways we were taught the fear of the Lord. We learned the certainty of his saving love and graces. We learned how to process the memories that were not so good by his instruction. We started young and we grew into a new day and age. Lessons from old ways of life became stepping stones into new and higher ways. Common happenings in our everyday life, from childhood on. became the substance of heavenly treasure. Over time we laid up treasures in heaven.
Isa 33:6 There will be times of security for you- a storehouse of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of the Lord is Zion's treasure.
We can rest our hearts ad lives in the safety of the presence of Jesus. We can enjoy trips down the redemptive river of our memories for the profit of many. For we have a bank account of blessing stories to tell all who will listen how we're discovered the joy of seeking his heart. So many need to hear his good news!
Trust in the Lord with your whole heart and soul and he will be your guide. Father God is the Author and Finisher, let him be the author of all of your life searches and plans. Lord, I pray for all who come to read nd hear. Move for their good! In Jesus name I pray! Glory to God, through the Lord Jesus Christ..
