Salvation... Jesus Is The Only Way!
This is the way!
Traveling Down The Romans Road
I can present a clear Gospel message of salvation to those seeking the Truth by utilizing the apostle Paul’s epistle to the Romans. Follow along now as I lead you through this presentation of the Gospel.
Our problem is sin. Sin is our default setting when we are born.
Romans 5:12
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.
We have all descended from Adam and his sin or unrighteousness is imputed or ascribed to us. Adam’s disobedience to God brought this sinful state upon us.
Romans 3:10
As it is written, There is none righteous, no not one:
We are born with a sinful nature and a sinful heart.
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
A sin may be one of commission (doing something wrong) or omission (ignoring something you should do). It can be an act or an attitude. It begins in one’s heart.
Our punishment for sin is eternal separation from our Holy God in a place we call Hell.
Romans1:18
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
God’s nature is holiness, truth and justice. Sin offends God and makes Him angry. In order to express His holy nature, sin must be punished.
Romans 6:23a
For the wages of sin is death;
Wages are what we earn or deserve for having sinned. First, physical death and then eternal death or separation from God in Hell.
Not of ourselves: we try to please God through our religion and good works thinking we can earn our way into heaven.
Romans 3:20
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
The law, or ten commandments shows us that we are not without sin. No one can keep the law perfectly. How many of the ten commandments have you broken? How many times? Remember the wages of sin is death!
Romans 3:28
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by FAITH without the deeds of the law.
You can not be justified on your own efforts through good works, but only by faith alone.
The only acceptable payment for sin is the sacrifice of one who is holy Himself (without sin), the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was crucified on the cross in your place.
Romans 6:23b
...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Though requiring payment of death for sin, God also provided the payment for you by sending his only begotten Son to carry the sins of the whole world on his shoulders.
Romans 5:6
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
God loves us just the way we are, ungodly, but He loves us too much to leave us that way.
Romans 5:8
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Christ died for us unconditionally before we even knew Him or why He came.
Salvation: Putting your faith and trust in Jesus alone: His sacrifice on the cross, His death, burial and resurrection is total payment for your sins. He is the only way to have your sins forgiven and assure you of a home in heaven
Romans 10:9-10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
First you need to believe in your heart that Jesus came to die for your sins. You need to believe in your heart that He is the Son of God that was crucified for you and resurrected on the third day. Then you need to ask Him to forgive you for your sins and come into your life as Lord and Savior.
Romans 10:13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
You will be saved from your default setting and the wages of sin.
Having confidence and peace: once you have trusted in Christ, He promises to keep you forever.
Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Through Christ’s obedience to the death of the cross, righteousness was imputed to all those who believe. He will never leave nor forsake you! You are forever His!
Romans 8:38-39
For I am persuaded, neither death nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Through faith you are saved and can experience the love and joy of having an intimate relationship with God through the Son, Jesus Christ. You are now assured of spending an eternity with Him.
