Satan and Demons, Myth or Reality

Updated on August 9, 2009

The Light-Bearer

A distinguishing feature of the Bible is its faithfulness in recording the life and character of all beings, whether human or angelic, saintly or evil. Within the sacred volume we not only have the biography of man, but also the history of those beings who occupy the foremost rank of created intelligencies. There are forgoing hubs out there that did a good job on considering the doctrine of those elect or chosen angels, confirmed by god in their holy position. We're going to be dealing here with the record of those angels who "left their first estate". Their first. "estate" being an elect or cheson angel because of their faithfulnes to their master, God.

Had Lucifer not become Satan, there would have been no demons, Our Lord spoke of "the devil and his angels," thereby identifying them as one brood. Those that reject jesus' claims, Jesus would say, "you are of your father the devil" and he is the father of all who dispise Christ as "The Truth", and of also of those spirits responsible for prompting despisers in their rejection of the Saviour.

What was the Devils origin, or where did he come from? God created all, even the Lucifer or the morning star. Notice the definate article "the" in front of Lucifer. This dose not refer to his name. You would not go around and say "the Mary, "The Oscar". but you would say the cat. "The Lucifer" refers to what he is not who he is. He is "the morning star," "Son of the Morning, "The Light-Bearer (cf. The bright and morning star, speaking of Jesus. Jesus is not a Light-Bearer or a created thing. His is light that shineth into the darknes) Through his folly he became the "Prince of Darkness", no longer able to bear light. Jusus is the light of the world. So Satan now transforms himself into an "angel of light" but you see he cannot be the light of the world.

Isaiah 14:12-12 Speaks of Satans fall though some may disagree, the language is clear and goes beyond the King of Tyre to Satan, inspirer and unseen ruler of all such pomp and pride as that of Tyre. But more is here, The vision is not of Satan in his own person, but Satan fulfilling himself in and through an earthly king who arrogates to himself divine honors, so the Prince of Tyre forshadows the beast of (Daniel 7:8; Revelation 19:20; Ezekiel 28:11-19), talking of contemporaneous events goes beyond them, using them as a type, goes from a reference to the King of Tyre to Satan, of whom the King of Tyre is a type. Before he sinned, or iniquity was found in him, Satan was known as "the Lucifer"

As anointed Cherub, he covered God's throne, but instead of covering it he coveted it. " I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the sides of the north: I will ascend above the clouds; I will be like the most high. Did you see the five fold I wills? Five strikes and he was "outah here"

What about you, do you have ambition, want to make a name for yourself, want your claim to fame. Well don't steal God's glory doing it. Give him the glory, delite your self in him and he will give you the desire of your heart.
