Seek the LORD while he may be found - Isaiah 55:6
“Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.” Isaiah 55:6
An open offer to us. Something I think we all have contemplated. Every fiber of my being tells me He is there. He has given me many instances of His revelation, drawing me to Him. He tells me it not a function of my intellect or action. There is no maze I had to work through to find Him. He did all the knocking. In my case, due to my own innate stubbornness, He had to knock hard. He came to me, I did not find Him. He knew who I was even before I was, millions of years before I was born.
Today is another day in the time slot where I am breathing. There are infinite time slots on either side, and I will exist forever on one side. My hope and expectation is to be with Him. The world I live in attempts to pull me away from Him. It tells me He does not exist, giving me a multitude of explanations to the contrary. Explanations that hinge on man’s intelligence, an intelligence which, although given to us by Him, pales in comparison to His and in effect denies Him. A compromised state of affairs, resulting from a choice long ago to go our own way.
That choice required intercession from a God who cares, one who loves and has offered compensation; and so He knocks on the door.
