Seeking Consolation in Prayer

Updated on November 2, 2013

You know, many people have pondered and wondered, WHEN is the end times, what is going to happen with our U.S. government- are things going to get worse and then better or what? We see many shootings and bombings even close to home and it effects everyone in one way or another.

I do believe in all honesty to 'keep the faith' and to remain the 'salt' and keep on keeping on. There is a beauty in trials, an opportunity really to be forged in the spiritual fire and come out even better. These are definitely trying times for all I think I would say.

How many people have lost their income, their professions and jobs and been forced to do menial positions in fast food restaurants and the like, after being one of many who were laid off after decades of working in a highly skilled job?

It's a sad story and also sad for those who wish to be busy and feel useful in the way of doing a trade and having work as many are unemployed which leads to a lower self esteem and lower quality of life financially thought there is a lot to be said for living a 'simple' life and embracing the peacefulness of less stress.

Spirituality and Mary

Why Turn To Mary?

Well, St. Louis Marie De Montfort said over two centuries ago that in the 'end times' that the faithful would be strong followers of Mary. There is definitely a strength in praying the rosary that I find very meaningful. I know many don't understand, sometimes even I don't understand- why people would pray to Mary (not worship just venerate and ask favors) and not to God directly. It is a mystery- God himself is a mystery of whom we'll never know all- why God chooses the "weak things of the world" to utilize His will.

If you notice, God shows us beauty in the lame, the ill, and the innocent who suffer and also gives us an example to follow that if they can remain cheerful despite all their obstacles, we can and should too. It is probably the most noble thing a person can do is to think of others and not themselves especially if one's life is challenging.

I do like the Humanity One World effort started by billybuc here on hub pages. Any effort used to encourage others is monumental.

I do really appreciate the efforts and positivity and laughter some fellow hubbers provide as do I'mKarn23, CloudExplorer, and many more like Deborah Brooks, Faith Reaper, GypsyRoseLee and the list goes on!

I am blown away at times with the flexibility of skills and generosity of hubbers as well as the opportunity to share and share alike. Somehow, this website has become the most close-knit online community I've ever experienced and even overflowing into the facebook platform where hubbers connect in an even more personal way and post and share hubs they like which are useful to read.

I feel like I have "little angels" watching over me and friends who I never met who care about me which is an endless blessing as there are 'endless people' to talk to and always something or someone new!
