Sharks in the Tank
A wise person once told us that it is important to have sharks in your life...
There was a very observant man who owns a fish tank, but his fishes were weak and would easily die. He nurtured them making sure that his tank were clean and that the fishes get the right diet. But still, his fishes had a very short life span despite the optimum environment.
I don't know exactly know how he thought of putting the sharks inside the tank or where he got the shark in the first place but as far as i could remember of the story, he did put sharks in the tank. And his fish managed to grow and live longer.
You see, when he puts the sharks with his fish, the fishes became more aware of their environment and began to learn to be more alert and to swim faster to evade the shark. It gave them some sort of an "exercise," it made their body grow stronger and made them more alert as compared to just swimming idly in the tank.
Just like the fishes, we need the sharks in our lives to teach us, to make us grow, to make us appreciate of what we have and what we need to improve on. It is quite unfathomable at times why the least expected aspect of our lives get challenged, but God has His reasons. I believe God gives us sharks in our lives to teach us something. It could be money matters, annoying professor, waking up early, or getting fit, we need to learn the lessons so that when we encounter the same shark, we already know how to respond.
