So Quick to Anger

Updated on November 3, 2018

In a world full of hate and anger, it’s so easy for us to react in negative ways. Why? Because....

We don’t think before we act, and it’s foolish. One of my biggest struggles as a Christian is controlling my anger. I was diagnosed with bipolar depression and if you know anything about it, it is basically like having split personalities. When I get angry, I feel like I have no control over my rage. In those moments, I often lack the ability to think, act, or speak rationally, and it terrifies me. It is a real time battle of good versus evil going on inside my head.

The Battle is Real!

Nothing good comes from anger. It creates bitterness, conflict, and strife.

Proverbs 30:33: For as churning cream produces butter, and as twisting the nose produces blood, so stirring up anger produces strife.

Anger

Do you think before you act when someone angers you?

Don’t Forget

We must remember in our most vulnerable and fragile state, that God is our father, and that he is always watching us like a father does.

He’s Always Watching!

Proverbs 15:3: The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.
Proverbs 15:3: The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, keeping watch on the wicked and the good.

Strength and Peace

There is literally nothing that God cannot do for us. However he does know the purpose he has for us so sometimes he allows us to go through some things in order to learn from them or in order to fulfill our purpose. Even still, he still wants us to have peace and joy in our hearts.

Don’t Let Anyone Steal Your Joy!

Psalms 29:11: The Lord will give strength to his people. The Lord will bless his people with peace.
Psalms 29:11: The Lord will give strength to his people. The Lord will bless his people with peace.

Only Through Christ Jesus...

The peace I speak of is only attainable through Christ Jesus. Since I’ve become a Christian, I have had an overwhelming amount of peace. In times when I would normally act irrationally as I stated earlier, I find myself now acting out of love which in turn gives me peace in my soul that I cannot explain. And though sometimes I do still act irrationally, I am now learning to suppress hate and anger. In order to attain this peace that I speak of, you must first practice seeking His Face daily and even hourly at times.

Seek His Face in ALL Things!

Ask and you shall receive!

Do you seek peace? Ask God to heal your mind, change your way of thinking, and help you mind your tongue. One of my favorite things about being a Christian is conviction of the heart. In case you don’t know what that is, it is God speaking directly to you. When you do something wrong he lets you know that and when you do something right he lets you know that too.

You’re Chosen!

1 Thessalonians 1:4-5: For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and deep conviction.
1 Thessalonians 1:4-5: For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit, and deep conviction.

I’m Human!

So do I still acting irrationally at times? Sure I do, I’m human, but with his help and his conviction, I have become more aware of my words, thoughts, and actions, and therefore, I am changing them. I must say, it’s working and my family and I couldn’t be happier.

Don’t Know Jesus? Let Me Introduce You!

Don’t know Jesus Christ as your personal savior? Well let me introduce you. Jesus Christ died before you were even born so that you could live a life of joy and peace. He died for the sins that you have not yet committed before you even knew his name. Not only did he die for you, but he rose again so that you may have life eternally.

In order to be a Christian, you must first...

So...

If you would like to except Jesus Christ as your personal savior...

Repeat After Me:
