So, What Is in It for Me?
Colossians 1:13 - 23
God Has Chosen To Rescue People From The Hostility Of This Planet
Colossians 1:13 - 14 ~ "For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, v. 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
- Paul wanted them to know that God set them free from the dominion of darkness.
- Paul wanted them to know that God had placed them in the kingdom of Jesus.
Something to think about:
While Christians don't reject legitimate science and reason, we do see faith as the ultimate solution for the hostility of this planet.
God Is Currently Inviting People Into The Safety Of His Church
- Jesus is God come in the flesh.
Colossians 1:15 ~ "He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation."
- Jesus is Lord and maker of the universe.
Colossians 1:16 ~ "For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him."
- Jesus sustains the universe.
Colossians 1:17 ~ "He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
- Jesus is the head of the church.
Colossians 1:18 ~ "And He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy."
God Is Offering People A Relationship With Him Defined By Peace And Fellowship
- Paul told them that they were reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1:21 - 22 ~ "Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. v.22 But now He has reconciled you by Christ's physical body through death to present you holy in His sight, without blemish and free from accusation--"
- Paul told them that they needed to continue in their faith.
Colossians 1:23 ~ "If you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope held out in the gospel. This is the gospel that you heard and that has been proclaimed to every creature under heaven, and of which, I , Paul, have become a servant."
Something to think about:
The message of the gospel is the same for everyone, everywhere, no matter who they are. Jesus Christ offers peace and fellowship to all that accept Him by faith.
An Application For Your Life:
If you are wavering in your faith by putting your trust in other beliefs beside Jesus Christ, please return to your Him today.
If you would like to receive Jesus into your life, all you have to do is pray and ask Him to come into your heart. You don't need to know any 'fancy' words or 'fancy' prayers. Just talk to Him from your heart. He will forgive your sins and give you a peace that the world can not offer. He is the best friend I've ever had, and I know He would love to be yours too. He is only a prayer away. I know He would love to hear from you.
