Somnath jyotirling is the pious Divine Light of Lord Shivji in the twelve Jyotirlings

Jyotirlings are the places on the Earth where Lord Shivji appeared with the pleasant experiences and had solved the problems of his devotees. These Jyotirlings have special radiation. These Jyotirlings have deep connection with spiritual and scientific world.

Lord Shivji creates our direct connection with universe energies. The creation of the world started with this endless Jyoti the divine power in the form of Jyotirling. The Organizer of this world through Jyoti is Lord Shivji.

Somnath Jyotirling is situated in district Gir Somnath in Saurashtra near Junagadh in the West Coast of Gujrat. This Temple is situated on Triveni Sangam. Triveni Sangam means the meeting place of three Rivers. These three rivers are Saraswati, Hirna and Kapila.

It was the time when there was a mind born creation of God. The male creation was Angeles or Devta, Rishi and Muni. The female creation was Devi or Goddess.

Prajapati Daksh was one of God's mind born creation. His twenty seven daughters were got married with Chanderdev the Moon. He loved only one wife Rohini. The other twenty six daughters of Prajapati Daksh felt neglected. They complained against Moon to their father Prajapati Daksh.

Prajapati Daksh made him to realize him. But he did not agree. There was no effect of his father in law's advice. He remained the same. Prajapati Daksh felt insult.

He cursed the moon with the disease of decreasing the Kshai Rog(T.B). Now everyone was feeling weakness. Because The Moon gave cooling and calming rays that had pleasant effect on everything. Everything had to suffer.

The Moon went to many Angeles and ask suggestions. At last Lord Brahman Suggested to do penance in Prabhas Kshaitar in Saurashtra.

The Moon did penance in Saurashtra on Prabhas Area. This was also the meeting place of Saraswati, Hirna and Kapila. He did penance with Mrityunjay Mantra of Shivji for six months. Lord Shivji pleased at his penance and appeared there.

That place where Lord Shivji appeared himself for his devotees and seated himself on the request of his devotees is called Jyotirling.

Someshwar Jyotirling is one of that type of Jyotirling.The Moon bowed to Lord Shivji and requested for removing the curse. In olden times curse could not be returned or destroyed. So Lord Shivji had changed the attitude and in this way he made it boon for the Moon and others.

In Shukal Pakashi after the black Moon his Luster would be begin to increase and in Krishna Paksh after the full moon light his Luther would be begin to decrease.

In this way his curse vanished. All thanked Lord Shivji and requested to be seated there as Jyotirling for the welfare of every body. Moon rays have the same importance as the Sun rays. Moon rays give us cooling and calming atmosphere.

At the South of Somnath Jyotirling , there is a pillar at the coast of sea. An arrow is placed on it that place, that is called Ban Stambh .There is no land between Somnath Temple and South Pole.

Lord Krishna went to his Baikunth Dham from this place.This place is called Bhaluka Teerth.

Now this is the best place for our spiritual progress and to remain close to Nature. This is the special place for enjoying the blessings of Lord Shivji and his magical divine power.
