Angel Michael Speaks:

I went to church because I loved God with all my heart. I thought I needed to do this to make Him happy. I didn't want to disappoint God. I loved being with the people, whom I also thought were there because they loved God. I wanted to find ways to be closer to him - by going to church.

Going to church can be great. Some people love it and it is a beloved part of their week and their life.

But sometimes church can be like "food" that we eat without reading the label - we eat and eat because we think it's good for us. We many not even like it.

Going deeper now.

Wherever you go, you take your heart with you, your filters, your opinions, your beliefs.

Wouldn't it be nice if on the doors of every church there was an ingredients list? There may be wonderfully healthy things in there for you, but would you still go if you saw poison in the list along with all of the healthy stuff?

Ingredients: Generosity, Kindness, Love, Fellowship, Friendship, judgment, intolerance, jealousy, control, fear...

I love the people so much. I still love many of my experiences at church, and no matter where you go you find these things. It is human nature. We are multi-faceted. There are things to learn from every aspect of our fascination with any one of these "ingredients."

You go into a movie theater and you will find the same ingredients. Because you have people.

But in a movie theater, no one is telling you that they are speaking the words of God, and God will judge you if you don't believe what is said in the movie. Movies can make you think, teach you lessons, remind you of what it's like to be in love, and most of all, let you come to your own conclusions regarding what you think of the content of the movie.

Some movies are better sermons than any sermon I've ever sat through.

But most of all, it is about love. The churches that have an ingredients list that looks like this, are all too often, the ones who tout that they are the only bearers of "God's Truth."

Ingredients: Fear, Control, Jealousy, Intolerance, Judgement, friendship, fellowship, love, kindness, generosity...

They are all imperfect, but at least it would be better to be in the first kind of situation. There's no church that has ONLY love, because as humans we all have the other stuff to deal with, it is what you focus on that matters.

It isn't all about love. It is all about learning how to focus on LOVE while dealing with all of the other ingredients in your own heart, in others hearts. It can get very discouraging if you expect everyone to be nice because they say they love God, or because they say they L.O.V.E. me. Love is not the absence of all of those other possibilities in human nature, but rather the ability to focus on love MORE that those other things, and by having love as your permeable shield, you allow in those you love, even after they have hurt you in some way, yet you do not focus on their weaknesses, but rather their strengths.

Your spirit will tell you of those you need to love from afar. Yet it is still love energy that you give to them, letting go of the perceived hurt that they may have purposely, or accidentally caused.

One day you may find reasons to thank them, not for the pain, but for where the pain led you. Everything is for your growth and good. Sometimes it is to teach you to have the courage to get out! Make a new start. You've learned enough from this situation.

People love rituals. They need them. It is nice to have order and symbolism in life. I left you many, many symbolic messages. Have fun finding them, like a love detective, like a curious child, like a lover playfully chasing her beloved through a hazy purple meadow. Giggle with delight when you uncover another piece of the puzzle.

It would be no fun for you if you were told exactly what the picture will look like when the entire puzzle is built. The entire puzzle will never be built. We will continue to build together.

Worship and Love are just words. Make them what you will.

Old stale ways of worship may have been done out of fear for a perceived angry god that would blast you if you didn't worship him just right.

Worship has a lot of uncomfortable and unloving energetic attachments to the word.

You give it whatever meaning you like, but there are "stigmas" with words like that, so it is understandable that some would be leery of the word "worship."

When you are in love you want to do everything you can for that person! You are focused almost completely - heart focus - on finding out what they love and why! You want to bring their dreams to them. You want to fulfill their every need and desire. You breathe and taste their presence. It is your JOY to merge with their body and their spirit. You cannot get enough of them! You know they love you too. There is not fear, not in true love. You just know.

The beloved one cares as deeply about YOU. He or she cannot wait to see you again, each time you part. They find a million ways to show you how important you are to them. Your hopes are their hopes. You may have different favorite colors, you keep your individual sweetness, for they would not want you to meld into them and lose your own strength. You are still two wonderful forces in the world. Yet when you join hearts, they fit so perfectly together in purpose, intention and soul vibration.

In worship, people tend to think of paying homage to someone or something OUTSIDE of themselves. There is awe for the being they see as above them in some way.

In some churches it is said, "You are nothing compared to God."

Going deeper now.

You are everything compared to God. You are everything desired, you are everything dreamt of. You are so close to God that your spirit heart beats in time to every other creature's intention in this vast "ocean of consciousness."

If I said, "You are God," many would find that blasphemous, and so I leave you to make up your own mind.

If I say, you are spirit, the same spirit that is God's heart, the same energy that is the light of God's face, the same beauty that is God's mind, maybe you can accept it without feeling fear or anger.

If you are inspired by beauty and life and spectacular sunsets, you are not ashamed and feeling less than, you are feeling appreciation and awe for the wonders that you helped to create. You.

Ego and arrogance come from a deep place of not knowing the confidence and awe and wonder of being a co-creator of all that is.

I love you so much. I am "in-love" with you. I would rather be in love than be worshipped. Yet if you give worship new meaning, in the intention of your heart, worship away! And I will worship you too.
