The Last Days
Tsunami Times
I remember some years back that many people have absolutely no idea what a Tsunami is.
Nowadays, it would be hard not to find at least one or two people within a group to really know what it is and to actually know how to pronounce the word.
Now even though, the Bible did not say that in the last days there will be tsunamis (and I would think if it actually did then many people would be on their knees right now praying) it did say or it quotes Jesus to have said that in the last days "nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places".
After Jesus, Paul wrote that "people will be lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God..."
Now, all we need to do is to look around, watch the news, read the newspapers, surf the web, open our eyes, open our ears, open our minds and maybe even look at what we ourselves have now become (yes without even having to point fingers to other people) and all these things that have been written (foretold) some two thousand years ago are all so eerily so true in our generation and have been for some time now.
Prophets of Doom
And we do not even have to go far to know that everybody around us, soothsayers, naysayers, the young, the old, the schooled and the unschooled, environtalists, social activists, film-makers, novelists, crystal-ball readers, prophets of all kinds, end-of-the-world placard carriers, the Mayans, cult leaders, cult followers, and you and me all seem to be saying that indeed, the end seems to be coming to an end (well at least earth as we know it to be).
But if you believe the Bible, which of course I wouldn't force you to believe in and yes even if I did many of you would probably never do anyway, but if for some reason you do believe--then it did say all these things will happen. But it adds, this will not be the end.
All this will merely be a sign for the coming of the end of days.
The End of Days
Jesus said that all these terrible things will happen, including "wars and rumors of wars" (it does sound familiar).
He adds that "many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other".
There will be "an increase in wickedness" and that "the love of most will grow cold".
And lastly "this gospel of the kingdom" (or the Jesus story) "will be preached in the whole world".
And then what?
"And then the end will come."
Unmistakable Signs
And you might be like any normal person, still waiting for a sign, any sign for that matter to believe or not believe. Jesus adds that "immediately after the distress of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the sky and the heavenly bodies will be shaken".
And then there will appear a heavenly being in the sky and that it will come down. Yes, I agree not unlike any sci-fi movie or novel or television series. It is as if Hollywood, book, television and nest-selling novel writers are conditioning our minds for what could eventually be what's up ahead (in the back of their minds, I believe these fiction writers believe it themselves).
So when this spectacular celestial thing happens, Jesus says it would be too late.
But He adds, "about that faithful day or hour no one knows... but only the Father".
So When?
Yes, much like when the dinosaurs of long ago perished in a cataclysmic event, it will be like in "the days of Noah" of the flood fame, "People were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage" (perplexly enough how this issue of marrying has been a hot topic for years now and still with no clear consensus in sight) "up to the day Noah entered the ark, they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away."
It looks like we have no clear timetable.
But remember, it didn't sy that a flood or a tsunami would end the world (like in Noah's time) otherwise we as the human race already have that covered, just watch the movie 2012 and that would be just watching a rerun of an old old movie if that happens, and there will be no excitement in that.
No, it didn't say that, go back to reread the unmistakable signs mentioned above, if you missed something.
And it also did not say that somebody knows the date, so 2012 might not be our species' expiration year after all.
But then again it might.
And with your luck it just might, like you might not have won the lottery after playing it for years and the one night you didn't purchase a ticket for your "lucky" numbers, your numbers win the top prize. Yes, "like what the...are you kidding me?"
No, seriously, the Bible did not mention the exact date.
But everyone from generation to generation, from culture to culture, from one belief to another, believes in the end days. We have seen enough end of days movies to know that right?
Any Questions? What Now?
Now, the question is what are you going to do about this information?
And more importantly, when the end does come and everything as written down above happens, what excuse will you have left?
Don't worry, you might just have to wing-it in the end. Or you might not.
But logically though, you would have a 50-50 chance and at least that would be more than the casinos, more than the odds-makers and more than the lottery-draws have given you all your life.
Why 50-50? Why Heads or Tails?
Yes because, it's just going to boil down to all these going to be true or it's all going to be not true.
And yes, at the proper time, if these are all proven to be be true, then you can't say nobody warned you.
In fact, the Bible has been trying to say this for thousands of years. Yes, believe it or not it's up to us.
