The Millenial Kingdom of Christ

THE MILLENIAL KINGDOM OF CHRIST

The Kingdom of God on earth is one of God’s greatest promises found in the Holy Bible. This is the central theme of the old testament prophecies of Isaiah and Zechariah.

At last, after all the vain rule of earthly empires that only brought miseries and frustrations to the poor and weak nations of the world comes the government of true peace, righteousness, justice, prosperity that will bring a thousand delight to the hearts of men.

After Christ triumphant victory at the battle of Armaggedon , Satan will be thrown into the bottomless pit where he will remain for a thousand year. JesusChrist will then begin to establish His government on earth with Jerusalem as the center for a period of one thousand years which Christians called the “Millenium.” During this period true peace and prosperity will reign over the whole earth.

The Millenium is simply a prelude to the eternal kingdom of Christ. The “armies of heaven” consists of all believers throughout all the ages will reign with JesusChrist.

The Tribulation Christians who were killed by the AntiChrist will be resurrected and will reign with JesusChrist too. During the last half of the tribulation period, the nation Israel will be saved. They will realize that JesusChrist is the “Messiah” they have been waiting for so long. They will call on His Name and they will be delivered. The nation Israel will triumphantly enter the Millenium. Other Gentile nations who became believers of the Lord JesusChrist and were not killed by the AntiChrist and his forces will also enter the Millenium.

The covenant which God made with Abraham and the Kingdom promises to David and all the prophets will be finally materialized in the Millenial Kingdom of JesusChrist.

These promises of peace, justice, prosperity and eternal blessings for Israel and the nations will find fulfillment when Christ sets up His throne in Jeusalem.

Israell and the nations will witness the manifested glory of Christ. He will be their Judge,King, Teacher, Shepherd, Savior. He will take His rightful place upon the throne of David. Jesus is both perfect man and perfect God. Christ will show His righteousnss, holiness, mercy, goodness as He rules the earth.

LIFE IN THE MILLENIUM

True and Lasting World Peace

“In the last days,

The mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as chief among the mountains .It will be raised above the hills, and all the nations will stream to it.”

Many people will come and say,

“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,to the house of the God of Jacob.He will teach us His ways, so that we may walk in His paths. The Law will go out From Zion. The Word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the natons and will settle their disputes for many people. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nations will not take up sword against nation nor will they train for war anymore.”

ISAIAH Ch. 2 v. 1-4 NIV

For the first time throughout human history, all wars that are waging all over the earth will come to an end. Never before a true and lasting peace for the world which had spent greater period of history in wars, bloodshed and violence. Never again families will be emotionally battered due to the brutal slayings of their loved ones. There will be an end to all massacres, murder, rape, brutal slaying and whatever form of violence.For the Kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of the Lord.

Soldiers will lay down their weapons and all military trainings will be ended. For the Lord will teach us His ways and He will be the One who will settle the disputes of the nations. In our time, our government is engaged with several peace processes, peace with the New People’s Army, peace with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front. These negotiations have been going on for many years already and have not yet been truly resolved. The United Nations has been tirelessly involved with several peace processes. One of these is the Middle East Peace Treaty. Up to now, there is no clear direction for such negotiation. When JesusChrist comes to rule, he will successfully settle all he disputes o the nations. Under His rule, true pace treaties will materialize.

True Prosperity Will Reign

“Even the wilderness will rejoice in these days. The dessert will blossom with flowers Yes there will be an abundance of flowers and singing and joy. The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel’s pastures and the plain of Sharon.”

ISAIAH Ch.35 :1-2

The curse which was placed upon the earth after the fall of man will be lifted When the Kingdom of Christ is established on earth. The dry and vast deserts which has remained unproductive for generations will become fertile and will yield many fruits. There will be abundance and healing all over the land. Food shortages will no longer be a problem. Famines will be removed from the earth.

Long, Full and Rich Life

“No longer will babies die when only a few days old. No longer will the adults die before thy have lived a full life. No longer people be consideredold at one hundred.only sinners will die that young.”

ISAIAH Ch. 65 :20

During the Millenium, righteous people will reach their full life. They will live as long as the trees, about six hundred years or more. Longevity of life will be restored to men.By that time, a person of one hundred years old will just be entering the prime of his life instead of twilight. A man or woman in his/her sixties will be considered as youth,contrary to our time when folks in their sixties are considered already as retirees.

Before the flood, human life span is longer. Noah lived the longest. He lived for 950 years. After the flood, human lifespan became shorter. Abraham has lived the longest. He was 175 years old when he died, followed by his wife Sarah who lived for 127 years old. Moses lived for 120 years old while David had reached only 70 years. In our generation only very few reached their nineties, only those with healthy and strong bodies.

Due to the longevity of life in the Millenium, a person may explore as many vocations as possible depending upon one’s interest . After being a teacher for a period of time, one may retire and be a musician or an artist. After that he may retire and settle for a writing vocation. In just one lifetime, it is possible that one could be a composer, a painter, a teacher, a writer or an explorer. In the millennium, career will be more for enjoyment rather than for making a living.

Just Economy For Everyone

“In those days, people will live in the house they build and eat the fruits of their

vineyards.”

ISAIAH Ch. 65: 21

Building of houses will continue throughout the Millenium, There will be real estate property and farmland for every family. Each family will own a real estate and a farmland, There will be no more “squatters” nor “refugees” for private ownership will be for everyone. There will be just and equitable distribution of wealth and properties. No longer vast tracks of land be concentrated only to few rich families.No longer will wealth be monopolized by only few privileged families.

Work Will Not Be In Vain

“They will not work in vain and their children will not be doomed to misfortune. For they are people blessed by the Lord and their children too will be blessed.”

ISAIAH 65:23

Work will continue throughout the Millenium for God designed work for men as a source of their provision. Work is a God-given principle by which men earn his livelihood.But in the Millenium, work will not be in vain, In our time, even though rank and file employees work for 12-14 hours a day, six days a week, still what they receive is just sufficient for their survival. No more money left for recreation or tropical vacations.

In the millennium, people will have time to enjoy their hard-earned gains. Their work will yield multiple gains much more than what they need for survival. They will have enough resources for tropical vacations, leisure and fun.

Tamed Wildlife

“In that day, the wolf and he lamb will live together, the leopard and the goat will be at peace. Calves and yearlings will be safe among lions, and a little child will lead them all.”

ISAIAH Ch. 11 : 6

I have watched an episode of “Untamed Africa.” My heart was torn apart because of the shocking realities that are happening in African jungles. My heart grieves for the weak and small animals who live in constant terror and danger for stronger and bigger animals are constantly looking after them as prey. The weak animals of the jungle are helpless against this odd.

In the Millenium, all wild animals will be tamed. It will be “Domesticated Africa.”

Even a wild leopard will be tamed as a goat. There will be peace in the whole earth and there will be peace in all the jungles.

Role of the Present Christians in the Millenium

Under he direction of JesusChrist, the resurrected believers of the Church will provide the leadership necessary to create a just society for mankind. It is probable that believers shall provide leadership in a multitude of roles, including government. Someone who has spent their lifetime learning to communicate and educate children may find that their assignment will be the provision of education for the natural children of the Millenium. The interests and the skills which the Lord has led you to develop in this life may be the first stage of a tremendous career which you will enjoy forever. In the Millenium and beyond, we shall have all the time in the world to explore every one of the possibilities of our vastly expanded abilities and interests. The greatest adventure we could ever imagine awaits us in the reality of the Kingdom of Christ. (Grant Jeffrey,1990).
