And when you Pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites, for they pray standing in the synagogues and on the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly i say unto you, they have their reward. but you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your father who is in the secret place, and your father who sees in secret will reward you openly. and when you pray do not use vain repetition as the heathen do, for they think they will be heard for their many words. Therefore, do not be like them. For your father knows the things you have need of before you ask him. Therefore in this manner therefore pray:

our father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever, Amen. ~Matt 6:5-13~

This prayer has been around for ages, most of the time, when we pray, we don't give thought to how we are praying. This can often lead to wondering whether or not our prayers are being heard. Could it be the way that we approach God when we pray? yes. Here's why. Our heavenly father, is a God of order. The way that we approach him in prayer, really does matter.

Let's look at Matt 6:5-13. In the book of Matthew, God has left some very specific instructions on how to pray. This does not mean that we should pray using only these words. It means that God has established and set forth an order to the manner in which we are to begin praying. After we have said the basis to our prayer, we can begin to ask for what we want. The Lord's Prayer covers all that we need. Although he promise to meet our needs, and he knows what we have need of even before we ask, he still wants us to ask him in the proper manner. After we have asked for what we need through this prayer, we may then begin to ask for what we want, and God will grant it, provided that it is good for us. This prayer is about respect and honor to God, while handing in our request.

May God add a blessing to all whom read his word.
